Hi all,
Today my doctor told me she also suspects fibro to be an issue for me.
I suffer from Stg. IV Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, PCO, Eczema, Asthma, Low white blood cell count, Depression/bipolar, Osteopenia, IBS, and a few other things... I'm 21.
Not sure what helps fibro pain - any ideas or hints would be appreciated greatly!
Thanks,
Taters

There is no one specific thing that helps everyone, instead a combination of different meds, therapies, lifestyle changes, etc.
My greatest recommendation is massage therapy if it is a possible option for you. Applying heat and taking epsom salt baths is wonderful for temporary relief. Many find that making diet changes such as eating gluten-free or eliminating sugar to be beneficial.
It takes lots of trial and error to find what helps you personally. If you want to chat or have questions add me as a friend :)

I would keep a journal to help you find the pattern of your pain to help you reduce it from that source. You will probably have a few origin of pain triggers that either act alone, in combination, and sometimes, when all resources are alerted to change-you are overwhelmed.
Massage is often the best natural pain release therapy, even if it has to be done with fingertips at first.
You are not alone, and everyone has different medical conditions that work with fibromyalgia, so we understand when others just look at you blankly. They truly do not have the experience of this pain.
Best wishes!
Massages are extremely hard for me, i'm so sensitive, I end up coming out sorer then I went in a lot of the time...is this what happens with most?
Perhaps starting off with fingertips is the key? as mideyebrow noted!
I am doing GF (trying my hardest) now, for my endo etc, I find it does help the inflammation.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

It's important to have supportive people in your life. Here I found that it was a relief not having to explain the pain, having people who truly understand.
There are many therapies and some of them will work for some and not for others.
Physical therapy, acupuncture therapy, Herbal remedies, nutritional therapy, homeopathic remedies, stress management techniques, exercise therapy, massage therapy and deep heat therapy are all helpful in the relief of Fibromyalgia symptoms.
It's important to remember that there is no "one-size-fits-all" massage. If you're coming out sorer than you went in, the technique the therapist is using may not be the right one for you.
I have massage weekly and my therapist varies her technique depending on what's going on with me at the time, but I've never come out feeling more sore than when I went in.
Not every massage therapist is knowledgeable about fibromyalgia - some think if they just do their standard deep tissue massage that you'll feel better. They are not used to working with muscle soreness not based in inflammation or injury.
