I was prescribed cymbalta for depression following a life threatening illness, blood clots in my leg and pulmonary embolisms in both lungs (have CFS & FM and other chronic conditions)...it was not a good fit for me, I experienced negative side effects, just like the commercial says, thoughts of suicide, disturbing dreams, disrupted sleep...got weaned off that med. Went on welbutrin instead and I felt much better...
pay attention to your body and if you experience any of the serious negative side effects get help asap to wean off of it and try a better med fit...all the best to finding the right med fit for you, hugs!
Not sure how long to wait before contacting my doctor about possible side effects. :(
How are you feeling with it?
*hugs*

On Day 6 I called my doctor and told her I was literally losing my eyesight - had to make the letters on the screen HUGE just to do my work. That's a very rare side effect but it is on the list.
Give it some time - I know some who have been really pleased with the effect and others who couldn't take it due to severe side effects. Everyone's different - give it a chance.
That said, Cymbalta has improved my depression. The chronic deep muscle ache has also been relieved. I find that I am not so anxious as well. I dislike needing to take an anti-depressant as well as the fact that I have to pay so much for it. However, I am now able to at least work part time and that in itself is a big improvement. I'll continue on it.
