Hello, I am a 15-year-old Christian girl from a Christian and very religious family. My mom and I have recently discussed sex, but it wasn't until today that we were talking about saving yourself until marriage. I then asked her if she waited to have sex until she was married, somehow I knew the answer would be "Yes! Of course." But then it wasn't, she said that right before she met my dad(he and my mom have been married for 22 years) she was in a 4-year relationship with her boyfriend and towards the end of their time dating, the had sex. She was crying while telling me, saying she was always afraid to tell me about that, and she debated whether or not to lie about it. I was crying while she told me everything and felt so bad asking that question. She was vulnerable in that moment. She had a really hard childhood and was abused and neglected by her father. She just wanted to feel loved by a man. She told that she didn't want me to make the same mistake as her. I asked her why she thought it best to wait, and her response broke my heart into a million pieces. She said that if she could change one thing about her life, she wouldn't change all the pain, struggle, anger, and neglect, of her adolescence, she would change the fact that she didn't wait for marriage. She said with tears in her eyes that she wished more than anything else in this world that she could have given the wonderful gift to my dad that he was able to give her. The gift of virginity to your spouse. She said she waited a long time to talk to me about sex because she was afraid I would ask that question. I do not know why I am struggling so much with what she told me. I have in pieces all day. I don't know what to feel I am feeling. All I know is to cry. What should I say to her? I m so confused I need help. Please, someone, help me out.

Discuss your feelings and thoughts.
And I know it may seem like a big deal, but it's also a personal choice.
I know its one of the ten commandments but have you ever yelled or not done something that your parents told you? if so you've broken one of the ten commandments: 'Honour your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'
Any way my point is, that God probably forgives your mother and you should too. She evidently feels remorse.
