i,ve been in a relationship with my partner for about 4 and a half years. she knows i have mental health problems and one of these is being on my own . i can cope if its just one night on my own . but for the past 3 years her family all go to a holiday camp.its only a hour away from us . it started with my partner just going for one night, then the last year it went to two nights. as i said this place is only a hour away if that so i can't understand why she couldn't just come home then go back again. i just managed being on my own for 2 nights trying to keep my anxiety under control. then tonight her mum rang asking my partner to drive some of her family over to ireland for a week as none of the other drivers in her family want to take them. i have never been on my own this long and i don't know how i will cope . my partner was well aware of my mental health problems when i met her and she knew of my fear of being on my own. i know i sound very selfish and i shouldn't let my mental health issues affect her. i can't go with her as we have 4 small dogs and getting petsitters etc would be to expensive. but what i'm worried about is my friends are saying to me that people in relationships don't go away leaving their partner at home. and when she discussed this 7 day trip not once did she ask me if i would be ok on my own. when she has been away before she only rings when she gets there and when shes leaving. and once when she went to visit her sister and told me she was coming home that same day,she didn't she stayed overnight and never even bothered to ring me to let me know.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

"Friends" who say that people in relationships don't go away are, in my opinion, very small minded. They are just feeding into your fears.
My husband took our son out of the country for THREE MONTHS. Not once did I get scared or doubt our relationship. Did I miss them? Sure. Was I lonely? Sometimes. Did I even get a little stressed or upset? A tad. But a week without my partner? I'd be doing the happy dance to have some Me time.
I'd re-evaluate those "friends." They should be happy for you and plan some girls night outs or dinner parties for you instead of planting seeds of doubt.
What did you do before you were with her? Perhaps you can spend time with other friends or invite people over? Think of it as an opportunity to grow?
If you're seeing a counselor, now's a good time to make an extra appointment.
I wouldn't want to for go time with my family... You could both start to save to have a friend sit for your babies
Just do something to keep your mind busy, you will be fine and trust in your mind that everything will be okay.
