Grandmother passed away, family issues

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so I may cross post in another group.


My grandmother was ill for a several years and to make a long story more simplified, her only surviving immediate family are myself and an aunt.  My aunt has mental health issues and has now refused to let me back into my grandmothers house.  I know there will be issues with the estate and with my aunt refusing to communicate rationally with me or let me into her house I don't know what to do.  There was no will.  I want this to be taken care of through the proper legal channels.  Does anyone have any advice?

I would hire a lawyer at least have a consultation …. This will probably have to go through the court system if there is no will and your aunt may be considered her next of kin since it's her daughter ??… I'm not sure however I would want to talk with someone who knows the law re estates...

thank you SunCloud, from what I have read in the state this is concerning- my aunt and myself would be considered the heirs to her estate as my father is passed away. this has just been a nightmare with my own grief and now her acting so terribly. there is nothing of any monetary value in her house that I want and to not even be allowed in her home is devastating.

I think legal consultations don't necessarily cost much.... The lawyer will discuss what he/she can do for you
I remember your posts and your aunt doesn't sound reasonable from what you've written....
She'll have to follow the law so it's important that you get some help sweetie... I'm really sorry that you have to go through this.... Big hug....xo
