Hello All,
Since being a little depressed and showing some anxiety these days, I feel like it is affecting my relationship with my husband of 21 years. I know this is not his fault for being estranged from my dad and siblings. I really just want to be respected and loved.
He talks to his siblings in private and will not tell me anything about them. I feel like he is either sparing my feelings or just keeping things from me. He also goes to the gym until 8 every night, should I be worried? I have asked him not to go everyday, in order for us to have our family sit down dinners, as we used to. Doesn't seem to care! If he does stay home he complains and bitches about not being at the gym. It is so annoying. When I approach him to fix things around the house he complains he is tired. Of what???
We got into it on Friday and he called me crazy and stupid for giving him the silent treatment and swears he is sick of this life. Well, his life is worry free. I take care of the finances, take care of our 5 children, taking the children to school, homework, housework, cooking, shopping, etc. You are probably thinking that he is running away from the chaos of the children. My children are all independent, my eldest is 19 and in University and my youngest is 4 a sweet angel. I have been blessed to have great children. Everywhere I go I get compliments of how well behaved they are. So, no it is not the children he is running away from. Yes, maybe it's me I am not much of a nagger. There is only two things I nag about and that his gym and smoking. He is probably going through mid-life crisis. He does nothing but go to work and complain of being bored at work. I wish I had his life where I could sit at a desk and come home and have everything done for me.
Another reason for giving him the silent treatment was because I don't like being talked down to. It reminds me of how my extended family used to talk to me, especially my father. This is our 5th day and am not looking forward to talking to him anytime soon. I just gave him a reason to stay at the gym everyday until 8pm, and something for him to think about by swearing that he hates his life.
I was just wondering that the way I am feeling towards him, if it is due to my issues with my extended family. Does anyone else have the same problem? Where you do not talk to your extended family and it affects your relationship with your significant other? Thank you for any input.
Sorry for the long vent!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
