Jackie and ThoughtasWeak are exactly right. They have what we call common sense.

You "organize prisoners" and you had an "inmates union."???????????????? What prison were you in? I say this because in all the prisons I have ever been in or heard of from other guys, organizing prisoners would get you written up, thrown in DU, and shipped to a higher security. I will agree that some prisons have an inmate council, but to call it a union or an organization is a laugh. These inmate councils certainly have no teeth.

Trust me, YOU did not run the prison. The DOC did. They might let you have a union or whatevery you call it, but it was symbolic in nature only. Other than having their civil rights violated, an inmate has no say in the day to day operation of the prison.

Please let me expand on my position on this matter.

I don’t want people to think I am some kind of grouch who wants to stifle free speech on this board. Everyone who knows me knows that I am tolerant toward different ideas on the board. In fact, the power of this board is that people here can learn from each other and exchange ideas.

There is not one poster here that I don’t like and care about, even though we may not always agree.

But this is a public board. A person can type in his user name in Google and many of his or her posts made here will appear in the search results. There are organizations out there that despise sex offenders and would like nothing better than to give us terrible publicity or even get this forum closed. I can think of no better way to do this than to show that this forum promotes breaking the law.

So, as a matter of policy, it is just not a good idea for any board member to suggest that someone ignore the law.

We really do have a great forum here with some positive discussion concerning sex offenders and the registry. Members here are very passionate about what they believe, which is as it should be.

I just do not want to give someone the opportunity to destroy what we have here.

once again...this board is not about activism but support...in that we have a lot, though you may not need emotional support many do before they reach the stage of becoming activists. for many, myself included, it is not as easy as having the shock of an arrest one day to jumping onto the bandwagon the next. it is a process of coming to terms with what has happened, learning how wrong it all is, then getting mad as hell to do something.

Jackie is correct. This is a support forum, especially for those in the early stages who have been shell shocked and blindsided by all this registry and sex offender nonsense.

OneofThem, you seem to want to use this board as a personal sounding board to preach intolerance and hate against your enemies, especially law enforcement and the society you think put you here.

I do not think that is the purpose of this board.

I myself cooked and have cooked and managed a resturant after my charge,the resturant was privtely owned and i worked for the owner when i had my charge,since then i have worked in resturants i always put my charge on my app witch is a CSC2nd and the one time i was asked about it he said do u got anything to say about it i said no and he let it drop after i said then,one time i was applying for a job and i tryed to tell the whole story about what happened,didnt get that one so i do try to avoid talking about it and i dont spread it around and try not to talk about it i just keep my head down do my job and follow the laws i dont live or work within child safty zones and i am compliant cause i wont be going to prison for somthing as stupid as regestering or not telling them where i work,i did however just lose my job because the copration i was working for got bought by another and i went back to work for the same store and i belive the higher ups found out and let me go,i always disclose and put the charge on my apps,i know how hard it can be to find a job and if i lose this job and cant find anything else i will try the ebay thing again.or just pushing a lawn mower around the city,i am not on parole or probration so i really have no work restristions other than i cant work in a day care or next to one etc....but u probley wont get a job working for walmart i have been turned down due too this stuff and no mcdonalds or burgerking but the is always a day labor places i think u can be a cab driver but not sure also a pizza delliver driver these are not ideal jobs but i know u can make so money if i remember correct eat n park resturants did hire a SO but that was like 14 years ago.good luck oh and i also donate plasma for extra money that is only around 200 a month,I also look at applications that dont ask about a felony,if they dont ask me i am not gonna tell although i wass going to an interview to be a manger and i did say on the phone that i was a felon and i didnt want to waste mine or his time but if asked about it i tell the truth hope this helps
