Yeah, I agree. That was really well written and makes the points very well. I'm really glad you mentioned the Circles of Support and Accountability. I looked this up when I first got involved in this issue a few years ago. It does not seem to have grown, yet it has such as amazing record of actually working. Why hasn't it grown?

I'll have to admit that this really bothers me. Last week I posted a link to an article and there were news stories attached. Some of the people interviewed are perfect examples of willful ignorance--people who think that SO's living together is "dangerous", people who think that so's are inherently evil. As I've said many times, the most dangerous thing is this level of ignorance!

So, the point is, ignorance has been winning out. People don't want to do the things that work because they WANT to be ignorant. Gives them someone to hate. Makes them think they might not be so bad themselves if someone else is so evil. Gives them someone to put down.

Of course, this is false thinking. Everyone on this forum recognizes that.

But my question is...does anyone have experience with the Circles of Support and Accountability?

Also, if a circle could be set up for you or your SO, would you want to be part of it?

Anyone?

I would definitely like to have a chance to work with a Circle when my guy gets out. I hope we'll get that chance.
