The police in this country will stop at nothing to make an arrest. They entrap people on the internet and make a game out of ruining peoples lives.
Catching true predators is one thing; entrapping people is not acceptable.
They taser people when it is not needed. They shoot citizens and are never held accountable for it. They kill our citizens with little provocation.
They assault people at traffic stops, especially women who become actually molested or sexually assaulted.
They are the King of Perjurers in criminal trials. Trust me, nobody lies more in obtaining warrants or in a trial than cops.
They raid people's homes, shoot the dog, knock innocent women around, and act like unorganized hooligans. The people here who have had their house raided early in the morning by the police can identify with that.
They do this because we allow them to. We have been conditioned to allow the cops to wage war on our own citizens.
We have become like the frog dropped into a glass of water with the heat turned up. At first the frog does not move, but when he does attempt to get out of the glass, it is too late---the water is so hot it boils him. The escalation of the power of LE in this country has been so insidious that when they kill a citizen, we just accept it.
We have created a modern day Frankenstein monster in law enforcement and three lettered agencies----FBI, NSA, CIA, ICE, etc.
Law enforcement is needed in any society to maintain and form of civility, but America's system of law enforcement has gone way over the top.
When will all this foolishness stop??
Law enforcement in America == The new American Taliban.

thank you both for saying what I couldn't say.

and the prosecutor waited until the day of sentencing to stop acting like the nice guy who was going to give my son a break, to an accuser full of lies and gross actions. Standing in the court room , knees bent, pelvis swaying into an empty palm and saying my son admitted to masturbating to little children. Which was an outright lie. I was shocked at his actions but funny how the judge wasn't. It was like a play they were performing.
If the cops come for you.. and you're not a rich dude, you're toast. And this poor lady is as well. I'd be surprised if they dropped the charges. I wonder if she'll take a plea
We live in an increasingly scary country, although not so scary as western africa...
This is much more true with the federal law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, DEA, NSA, ICE, etc., than the local police departments.
Law enforcement, especially the federal agencies, just look upon the citizens as someone to be tolerated and the United States Constitution as just a roadblock in their quest for total power.
It has been this way for several decades now, but I believe the beginnings were The War on Drugs and then it worsened greatly after 9/11 with such legislation as The Patriot Act.
Now that crime has been so politicized and we live in a political climate of fear, law enforcement has been able to do pretty much as they please all in the name of fighting crime or terrorism.
Shameful.
