Matt just talked to his parole officer and he said we have nothing to worry about and that there was no reason for them to take him. An using his past is an assumption not reason for doubt

Was this child born while you were married to your current husband? if so, in many states it's automatically assumed by the states that the child is the husband's

Yes he was. We talked to the lawyer and he's said really we couldn't do anything right now bc paternity has to be established. And if it comes not Matt's then we have a big problem.

Let us know what happens today - I have to disagree with the lawyer. There is no basis to assume that the child can be taken just because someone claims possible paternity. And Matt's situation has nothing to do with it because he followed all the laws about your son.

And for now I assume Matt is the Father on the birth certificate? At this time that is a legal document and until the time paternity is proven that legal document stands. Is this lawyer actually on your side??

That sux cos in PA, the child is assumed to be the husband's if the child is born while you're married and at least it used to be they wouldn't even let anyone else question the paternity...only the mother or the husband

For now we have at least 1 visitation a week, but they are going to do more. We also have a mediator that has to be there but it's our cousins so we won't be uncomfortable. Now until we get the DNA test that's how it is for now

I'm ok considering..... I found out yesterday how much my family really supports me. I love getting nasty messages on Facebook from my brother who I never talk to telling me how I am a bad mother and just let my child go bc I chose my husband over him. That wasn't even what happened. He wasn't there so he had to hear it from someone else that was there. So after he called me and started yelling and I hung up on him. He then kept calling me, and sending me messages about he knows where we live thanks to watchdog.com. But I wasn't worried about him coming to my house. It was actually very funny when he got there. See since I don't talk him, he doesn't know a thing about where we moved which is why we chose this house. It's about a quarter mile drive way with a iron gate and a pass code. Lol after he got there he sent another message saying your lucky this gate is here! We weren't even home at the time. So I called my mom telling her she needs to call him and tell him to get away from my house. Then later I get another phone call from another number that turns out to be my other brother. Then he starts in on me telling me I don't know what the hell I'm doing and I need to get my head back on my shoulders. So I called my mom again to ask her what everybody problem is and she acts like I'm stupid and don't know what I'm talking about. From the start of this they were all pissed off about the situation blaming my husband for it. So I explained to her what actually happened at court and she's like well how are we supposed to know that if you don't talk to us? REALLY!!! You all left before it was over!!! So thinking I kinda got it in her head that it wasn't Matt's fault, my cousin who is our mediator, sent my mom a message thanking her and the family for coming and supporting me and Matt. The message she got back said we were there for Alex not Amy and Matt. So I guess you could say I'm not numb anymore! I feel complete disgust with my family! I deleted everybody off my Facebook page. And haven't heard anything else....

I think you're right to delete everyone off your Facebook page. Facebook seems to bring out the worst in people. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all that mess with your family, while at the same time enduring the stress of having your baby taken from you.

Families are the worst to deal with. I stopped speaking to my parents for months until they finally got the message that they will support all of us or none of us. I still haven't spoken to either of my brothers or SILs either, and deleted all of them from my FB page. The time you need their support the most, is when they turn on you. Gotta love family (sarcastic)!

Btw, I am glad there is some ground being won; that you can see your son. Praying that this will all work out for all of you.

I hope you consulted another lawyer. The idea that someone can claim the paternity of a child born during a marriage that did not even involve that person can't be right. There would typically have to be tests done to prove paternity.
