Oh boy Rew is so right about not talking to the police. Not only are the police not interested in your story, they cannot control what happens with the info you give them. And the police will lie to get you to confess, they are legally allowed to lie to you.

I need to say that no one can question you without a lawyer or public defender present. You can and should tell the police or detective or whomever that is trying to question you that you will not answer anything not even what is your name till you have a lawyer present. That was the first thing my lawyer told me that he needs to be resent for any questioning and to not say anything without him there.

The waiting game...the worst place to be because you never know when the phone call will come. Will it be the evidence is overwhelming and this is the deal or will it be not enough evidence and a "no information" entered?

In the meantime I'm reading Tuesdays With Morry. If anyone hasn't read it I strongly urge you to. The true story about facing the ultimate darkness of death and to walk to it with grace, diginity, humor and poise. I have found it a profound book and a way to face what I am facing now.

Every person on this website is very knowleagable and they all give GREAT advice but one person in particular you should really take notice of his advice is REW. I wanna say something also. Just like REW stated, always remember that the police are not your friend.(it may seem very harsh to say because we tell our kids to always trust the police) but he was correct. They are only out for the arrest. in there minds you are 101% guilty.My husbands was a very peaceful man and he too never even had a parking ticket. One day his son was upset at him and he and hi sister snuck over to there moms house. My husband usually forbid them going because she was a crack cocaine user and known to steal. She prostituted for her drugs therefor he did not want his kids around her(dont think he was being mean)well the kids snuck over to her home lied and said he had spanked them( he didnt)what really happened was the son called me a B_ _ _h so my husband made him write 100 times that he would not disrespect me. the mother reported he was abusing his kids so the police arrested him and charge him with ABUSE. so we thought. those police interrogated him. smiled. told what a nice man he seemed to be. they couldnt believe the charge so asked him for his side of the story. they were like yea we believe you. you were just doing what a father, a real man had to do.then they both stood up and said and were doing what we have to do as police officers. then they told my husband to stand up and put his hands behind his back. only then did they tell him the real charge they told him he sexually abused his daughter.his jaw fell open. he could not believe that. in court he was found guilty sentenced to 10 yrs. the first prison he went to was a super max. you know you have major criminal up in there but he was sent there not just for the abuse charge he was also labeled as extremly violant. in court the DA tried to also charge him with administering corporal punishment on the kids due to the fact he made his son WRITE 100 times when he called me a B.they couldnt get that to stick.I have gone on and on but bottom line is PLEASE get a GOOD attorney. FIGHT with everything you have. and most importantely KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT! you dont have friends. all my husbands "FRIENDS" testified and helped to get him locked up.all his friends he had when he was free have NEVER written to him.when I see them they dont even ask about him.they want to know if they can get with his wife until he comes home! ha please.so dont talk to family,so called friends, or the police. PLEASE.

Im sorry ...I did comment on your post but I have no idea where I posted it SORRY. It was a long one so I will just sum it up. The advice you were given is correct PLEASE FIND A LAWYER. and what REW said KEEP IT SHUT! anyway and every way they can police will try and trick you for there own personal goal..TO ARREST YOU!They tricked my husband.he was new to how the law worked. NEVER EVER charged with any crime. no parking ticket nothing. when he was arrested at home he was told he was going downtown just to answer question about spanking his kids.they handcuffed him saying it was mandatory anyone wear cuffs in the backseat.they didnt read him his rights cause remember he was just going to ans questions about spanking his kids. well at the station they talked to him like a person. complimented him. they were just so nice. then one of the officers said "I UNDERSTAND YOU WERE JUST BEING A MAN(A FATHER) DOING HIS JOB SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME DOING MY JOB" that is when he told my husband to stand up from the table and put his hands behind his back. he was under arrest for. and this was the actual charge, they had a report that he sexually molested his daughter. they never told him this but they were his "FRIENDS" who wanted to hear his side of the story. PLEASE. when my husband went to trial the police turned his whole story around about spanking his kids. once he made his son write 100 times"I WILL NOT DISRESPECT NICOLE"because the son called me a "bitch" the DA tried to add the charge of corporal punishment but the judge threw it out but cooperating with the police got him 10 years prison and his home prison was 8 hours away and it was a super max for really,really violent offenders so please watch what you say and take an attorney!

Lol, it's ok a lot of people have said the same thing over and over without realizing the multiple pages of comments.

Right now I have a public defender because we don't have the money. But we're hoping my wife's story catches attention and we can get a good lawyer who will put a human face on this case and I'm not a monster.

But back to the two books mentioned, I highly recommend them!
