I would like to say THANK YOU to all of you who listened to me during my time of frustration. you all are the meaning of true friends. I knew it would be difficult with my husband having to carry around this charge and I knew it would affect me also but I was prepared, as long as we could face it together. as his wife I would have to put up with the gossip and stares from others but I never believed the one of the hardest hurdles to get over would be with my husband. I love him with all my heart and I really do hope this is PRISON talking and not him. What I mean is what REW said once he is letting the time do him, he is not a good prisoner. He cant handle it and he's frustrated due to his false conviction and also due to the surgery he is in pain and cant get decent help so he is taking it out on the closet person ME his wife. I hope that is the problem. But thank you all again you made me feel so much better.

We do care! I understand that prison affects people - they will either become better people or come out worse. I pray that he is only in a season, which he will quickly snap out of. Just be sure to remind him that you are serving time too. You may not be locked up like he is, but you are affected just as much as he is. (((Hugs)))

NEVER faerydark and this is why I am so confused, frustrated, and crying. My husband is a southern gentlemen. He believes in opening car doors and pulling back chairs things like that. He was very respectful and polite to other women. But ME he put on a pedestal. That is not just why I fell in love with him it was so much more. I could go on for hours with all his good qualities. I love him he is a great great man and I totally believe him when he says he is innocent. I loved the great way he treated me when he was on the outside but during that 10 year sentence his attitude has gotten terrible. I often tell him if I had met you on the street with that attitude I would have kept walking. This is why I am hoping its the prison talking because if after his release I can get part of my husband back I would be so happy but for now he is just making me miserable!

Nicole, My husband was also wrongly convicted, and when he first went to prison everyone told him that I would not stand by him (other inmates, prison Psycologists, Correctional Officers etc.). And for a while he took it to heart. He did everything he could think of to push me away..I finally got fed up with the attitude and told him I wasn't going anywhere, but if he wanted a divorce he would have to be the one to file for it. And if he didn't want a divorce to knock off the attitude and be the person that I married. Well 30 years later we are still together. Yes the prison experience has changed the both of us. I had to learn how to take care of myself, as I had never worked a day in my life. He had to learn to depend on me and the prison system to take care of his most basic needs.

I pray that your husband is just going throuagh a phase.

Well it's good to know that he's not normally like that. Hopefully he knocks it off soon

you could always send that letter straight back to him with an added note asking him if he knows what he can do with it...... and tell him that you are doing what you can and if it's not good enough??? that you can quit.

As with children, you reward good behavior and ignore bad behavior until it turns around. I really think you should NOT write to him while he's in this state of mind. Leave him alone and wait until he writes a good letter, then respond to that one right away.

I really like october2014's advice. Or you can send his letter back telling him you only want GOOD letters or the money machine stops.

Hugs for you. You are in a tough place and so is he. I have no advice, but do see good thoughts in the comments of many here. I pray you will have wisdom to know how to handle this and strength to do whatever is necessary.

I hope that what ibeenthere2 posted is the situation. I have read of inmates pushing away loved ones. However, this does not excuse his behavior. You need to take care of yourself first.
I cannot imagine how hard this is to go through. I will pray for you.
