I wonder if the news outlet should be written about this kind of promotion of vigilante behavior? I know there was someone on here that wrote before... would they be willing to do that again???

i think this is a bunch of crap they said that you are not suppose to use the Megans law website to harass anybody yet you have a cop here advocating violence to RSO's

Wow, for him to say something like that. To put them all on an island and blow it up, that is just not right at all. What if someone followed his advice and went blowing people up......what would that sheriff say then. Crazy!

I sent this letter to the reporter and a copy to the report a story link:

"As far as I'm concerned lets just put these child molesters on a deserted island and blow it up," said Grey (police chief Dennis Grey)

This is an officer of the Law speaking here. This is hate speech! There are 7, yes, 7 sex offenders in your town, and their registry listings do not even give date of conviction, or victim age, HOW CAN THIS MAN boldly state that they are "child" molesters? I notice one of them is 24 years old with his crime listed as "sexual conduct with a minor". The age of consent for sex in Arizona is 18! Who is to say his crime didn't occur 5 years ago, with a girlfriend HIS OWN AGE?

The 80 year-old man in your story does NOT seem to even be on the registry anymore which means THEY CANNOT RESTRICT HIM FROM GOING ANYWHERE as he is not even required to register, so they no longer have a right to control his life. He has served his time, paid his debt to society, etc.

The following warning is emblazoned on each listing on the Arizona Registry!

Your councilman also does not have the RIGHT to decide who does or does NOT have constitutional rights.Something else your Police Chief and Councilman are not taking into consideration is that most child molestations take place in the child's own home or other familiar place and are perpetrated by members of their own families. It is more likely that a child will be struck by lightening, or end up on the sex offender registry themselves than to ever be victimized by someone on the registry.

You got that right! I was very close to getting s degree in journslidm before it turned so yellow! I am considering publishing a magazine that helps familes of all inmates. I could have specific articles dedicated to educate about the inefficiencies of the registry. It needs to br standardized. Isn't megan's law consistent across th states. Is it federal?

I have found this site to be extraordinarily helpful as to what to expect. I've never had anyone in jail before. What the eff do I know?
