This is the 9th circuits interpretation of the bill of rights. So certainly any states in the 9th circuit could not enact a similar law without a good chance of it failing. Other circuits may have different interpretations, the 9th is known to be the most liberal of all circuit courts. This is a great precedent to have for those in the west, and it could potentially help others outside the west, but it's up for each circuit to rule on that individually. If the SCOTUS were to grant certiorari than that would be something that would be simultaneously law across the entire country.

FL has this law about the internet identifiers - it was just enacted in full force and also includes any and all car registrations even if not registered to the offender - just if the car lives at the same address. When I first read that I was completely appalled -

"FL has this law about the internet identifiers" It's one of the reasons we are looking at leaving the state of FL, that and now they have it flashed on the front of the drivers license...it wont get better, just worse. And we live in Brevard county which is worse because we have an ordinance too that is not just where you can live but literally where my husband can be at any time. So he needs something from the Home Depot to fix the sink I have to run to it and get what he needs because there is a daycare across the street. Ridiculous!
