Finding a lawyer

Can anyone give me some insight on how to find a lawyer? it is Saturday. Should I wait until Monday?
How many lawyers should we speak to? What should we expect to pay for a retainer? will it all be do up front?
I'm so scared of the FBI coming back to ask questions. I am afraid to leave my dog alone. What if they come back and we are not here?

It is regarding my husbands CP investigation. He has not been charged. They just took the computer yesterday.

The website I linked you to is therapists who specialize in sexual matters, not necessarily sex crimes per se, but sexuality. http://www.atsa.com/ The second website treats sexual abusers but they make have certain biases in treating your husband. The best thing to do is to screen them, just as if you were hiring a lawyer. Learn their philosophy of what they think of people who download CP. Do they see them as monsters or in people who are in need of treatment? Do they think someone is capable of not downloading again with proper therapy or do they think it is only just a matter of time? These are important questions, not only in terms of your husband's treatment but also because the philosophy of the treatment provider will influence how he or she explains how much progress your husband has made, when the time goes. In other words, what I am trying to say is, you want someone who can take the matter seriously but still see your husband as a human being.

Shop around, see several therapists and then make a decision. But be sure to make sure they will help, assuming your husband does his part.

A good therapist knowledgeable in this area will be able to tell you right off the bat that the recidivism rate for CP is incredibly low so if they don't acknowledge that when you are interviewing them, it is a clue that they may not be what you and your husband are looking for.

There's a great lawyer in Miami Floriduh , David Seltzer. Don't know where you are, but ifyou're in Floriduh he's a good one to contact. Or contact him anyway and see if he knows someone in your state.

Make sure your lawyer knows about getting forensics. I got my son 2 sets of forensics.. He still had to take a plea and got time in prison, but it got him less time and I have the proof of his innocence.. if I ever find a way to use it. Don't go by the FEDS forensics , it's overblown and one sided.

ABEL is a test they will probably give him. I am sorry I mentioned it. Try not to worry about it for now. AUSA is the assistant united states attorney who will be assigned to your husbands case. You probably won't know who he is until he is officially arrested and arraigned.
