I'm at my dads with my kids spending our last night together. This is a horrible feeling and really hard to keep it together. Court is tomorrow morning for sentencing.

I feel your pain. It was the most nerve wrecking day for me. I could not sleep at all, but I also could not cry. It seemed so strange and unreal. We knew the Plea Deal my fiancé had to take, though, and that helped some. Did your attorney tell you what will happen tomorrow? Is he taking a Plea?

The judge rejected the plea. Minimum 2 years.

I have to pack his stuff and put it in storage. Empty his bank account and pay off his bills. His truck will get repossessed. Not sure what to do with his sports car. It was suppose to be a project for us both to do over the summer.

You might think about getting a Power of Attorney to handle your dad's affairs while he is in jail---if he does go to jail.

Mally... Make sure you take care of yourself. You'll not be any good for your Dad if you don't. We are here for you with whatever help and advise we can give.... So sorry to hear the outcome but at least that waiting is over. You now know. Now a different waiting takes over. The time before your Dad is released!

I'm so sorry. You're in my prayers and thoughts. The night before sentencing is the worst. He's so lucky to have you there for him. Just show him how much love you have for him and it will be ok. Be strong and know that we are all here for you. (((hugs)))

He plans to sign over power of attorney tomorrow. I never imagined I would have to do that unless he was too old to care for himself. My dad has never been in trouble and never wanted to be. He has always worked his ass off to give me a good life. It was always just me and my dad since I was 2. This isnt right. Thanks for all the support. It mean so much.

So sorry - I know it is very hard. Hug everyone very tight and face the day - that is all you can do. Sometimes turning in a car that has a lean is better than waiting for the repossession (is there no one to take over the payments perhaps?)

its part of the ch 13. I can't afford the payments. its got over 400k miles on it anyway. not really worth it. he just textes me that he will be home soon. so no jail right now. he hasn't said what happend. waiting on a text back.

this is what he said, "4yrs probation, registered their 2, I'm out now for 2 weeks, then have to serv 90 days, 3 months. Trying to get work release , work all day, jail @ night n days off, but it he can't, my job & everything is gone"

Mally, though that sounds bad, it sounds like things turned out better than expected. Certainly better than 2 years minimum. So, good to hear what's happened so far, and here's hoping that it turns out better still.
