i noticed that there only going after season pass holders i could be wrong

I just got off the phone with my mom...She is a Disney nut, and goes once a year.(When she goes trough that gate, she's 70, going on 10).
I asked her about this, she went last summer, and she saw nothing about fingerprints and was only asked for ID to match the name on the ticket..Apparently some people would steal or find discarded tickets.
Seems to me that they went after season ticket holders,
Go, have fun, don't worry about it....Go to 'It's a Small World', I think it's still there...I went as a kid in the 60's and 70's, then the last time in 1990? I was on leave and went with my family, and it was corny as hell, but I still loved it....
If they say no? Get your money back and go to Knott's Berry Farm, almost as good and the Fried Chicken makes the Colonel hang his head in shame.

true there are other places besides disney world to go to and knots berry farm is pretty great as well and you got sea and all that other great stuff so go have fun like coastie said

I am truly sorry to all the Americans who have their names published and available
for anyone to see with the click of a mouse. Here in Canada names of RSOs are only
published if they are deemed a high risk to reoffend and have commited multiple sex offences
that involve rape etc. but there are a few "protect our children" websites here published by family action
that publicly name with photos, locations and convictions online.

I am a RSO from AZ. I plan to take my honeymoon with my wife their soon. I am not worried one bit. I am not on any public registry. And there is NO Florida law then can ban a Sex Offender from going to WDW. The only way would be to restrict the SO's that are on probation or Parole. But as far as a law goes. There is not any law that restricts SO's from going. As far as the news story goes: They are not running background checks on everyone that goes there. They might be doing it for Annual Passes but not everybody.

Yeah I would pay in cash and call it good. Even though there is no law restricting SO's from Disneyworld, they can still legally tell you to leave the park or you are trespassing. SO's are not a protected class so this unfortunately violates no law.

Disney does look at ID - they also look at the names of the people on a reservation - however, they do not have bells and whistles that alert them to SO and Disney actually has no rules that say an SO cannot come in - they only did this because of the media scrutiny -

So if you book a reservation they will say you can stay in the hotel and use all the amenities etc. but not enter the park - not sure about paying in cash but even if they look at ID they do not have time to look up the SO registry - and the last time I looked Orange county FL does not have a ban on Sos in parks

they do not run backgrounds on everyone that has an annual pass - these names came up because of a noisy reporter that had nothing better to do - he was able to get a listing of annual pass holders which has since been stopped - Disney does not release the list of annual pass holders any longer

BTW if you are not on any public registry you are not going to have any problem

in florida its on your licence a little number in the corner and i live here and am surviving lol

yeah but not sure the person looking at the license would know that statute number

Does anyone have any updates or input into this? My husband and I actually went to Disney World for our honeymoon a few years ago and truth be told, I didn't think a thing about it at the time. Anyways, fast forward to now and his entire family is trying to plan a trip to Disney and my husband said to pump the brakes due to his public SO status. I have tried to search online to find further or newer information, but really only find one or two news articles (and rew's original post on this thread). Disney's actual website says nothing about SO's on their rules page. I know Florida is pretty shi**ty when it comes to SO's in general, but I'd like to take my son on the family trip with all his cousins and have his father be included in the festivities, but obviously am reserved because we don't want to jeopardize anything. We are hopeful that Michigan will reform their laws so he can revert back to only registering for 25 years as opposed to life, thus we don't want to rock the boat!

How will they know? Do you have to show license at gate. Use to only show tickets and you can buy on line or at gate... unless they have face recognition, but they are not that advanced yet at disney

I suppose the only way they would know if by the name given because we would stay on-site at one of their hotels and do the park hopper passes. I can't remember if we had to turn in a license for our previous reservation, but know that at all park gates you don't show any photo identification.

Disney does supply you with a new "magic band" which you wear to get into parks and it links to your hotel room for room charges, photos, fast pass for rides, etc which is tied to our name, but other than that nothing.

I'm usually just overly paranoid, but figured I'd ask =)
