My fiancé has his sentencing in 2 months in CA right after our wedding for one count of CP possession with a very old judge who is a "wild card" meaning no one can ever tell what fate he will decide because he gives such random sentences, very light or extremely harsh.

Has anyone ever been convicted and had a decent outcome? like a year sentence or probation? (along with registering as an SO which I know is a given almost always)

I know nothing about sentencing is "decent" but decent to me means not favorable but not a 6 year sentence either.

My son is CP was adjudication withheld (not really anything great in FL except he maintains his civil rights) - he got this because he was young at the time and because (I know now but did not know then) that there was obviously something wrong with the case or the prosecutor would have never agreed to the deal. he is still on the registry for life (all in FL are)

I received four years probation for a conviction on one count of possession of CP in Nebraska. I could have gotten up to 20 years in prison, based on the sentencing guidelines, and I might have traded being incarcerated one or two years for not having to register as an SO.

I think a lot depends on the jurisdiction, and whether it's a state or federal case. I hope your fiance's outcome is favorable.

I received 1 felony count for 1 image (out of many thousand legal images...) I received 250 community service, probation 4 years min - 5 years max or until further order of the court. I'm in my 7th year probation now.... I spent $75,000 in legal fees for a case that is UN-winnable in trial. I had to give up trying or go broke. (Vermont)

My son was convicted of CP distributing. The state tried to make it federal but they didn't want it He got 5 yrs all suspended but 1 which he did in county jail plus 5 yrs probation.

Federal offense 1 count of possession - 27 months (24 served) and 15 years supervised release.

Vermont tried to get it Federal but they declined so they were stuck with me. They didn't want to foot the bill to incarcerate me...

My son served 10 months in county jail waiting to sentenced. The judge released him at sentencing for time served and 5 yrs probation

My son CP and federal. Nine years for possession and distributing for using a peer to peer internet thing. Twenty years supervised release.

Federal here, pled to 1 count of possession CP. 5 years supervised release, just about to finish my second year this August and going to petition to be removed.

My son plead guilty to 1 count federal, got 10 years in federal prison and lifetime registry. He is currently facing charges in Montana as well. Apparently he was in email contact with someone who lived there. I am in Western New York State.

Fiance has 2 counts through AZ. He took a plea for 1 1/2 years jail time, lifetime probation. He has to complete sex offender treatment. He can petition to get off probation after he completes treatment and if he does get released from probation he is post ten for registering as a sex offender.

I'm hoping my son gets counted in the recent lawsuits here in MD. At the time of his offense, CP distributing used to be 10 yrs on the registry or at least that's my understanding. A few months after MD became AWA compliant and his offense was increased to 25yr on the registry. So when he pled guilty it was 25 yr. I'm hoping it goes down to 10yr for him.

In Arizona a man was sentenced to 200 years for 20 counts of possession of CP. He did not know the person inthe pictures, they were downloaded and he had no priors. To only recieve two months for cp most of us would be crying tears of joy
