There is a book called 'Lost Memory of Skin' that is written from the perspective of a sex offender.

There was a book, "Through the Glass," written by the wife of an offender up in Canada. The woman had a hard time personally and professionally for many years. I don't know how things work in Canafa, but her problems seemed to stem from the system, the media, and gossip rather than from the registry.

I read "Through the Glass", and it is a very good book but also very disturbing. Definitely worth reading.

I started writing one 2 years ago then my husband fled. I began re writing when he was apprehended 16 months later. Its painful and a slow process. Its like reliving it. I have 5 chapters to go, its about 25,000 words right now and its called Crawling Through The Valley. When I finish It, Amazon will sell it as a kindle version on their website for $9.99. It talks very little about my husband and his charges and 90% about what it did to us and how it changed us. I just have so many bad days in a row right now where I don't leave my bed so it has become difficult to resume my writing.

It sounds like the book will be worth waiting for. Be good to yourself while you can.

I have also started a book and although it is about my son and our experiences I also have gathered information so i can present the facts and the truth about sex offenses and the laws. Unfortunately I have not gotten very far but I will ...

Our side of the story needs to be told. There are many tear-filled memoirs of people who were survivors. They would seem to many to justify the laws that are on the books. Until the other side of the story can at least be told, that will be the public perception. Until the public perception changes, nothing will be done to change to laws.

Keep writing, friends.

Please let us all know when these books are finished. I will promote to all I know. I really need to see how others cope from day to day. One thing I do know, we are stronger than we think we are.

If anyone wants to write a book from the viewpoint of the offenders family, they should include this in their book. Maybe this older thread will give some of you some ideas---------

My book is purely my perspective and I may ask my kids to write a chapter. I have asked my husband from his cell to write the prologue about "us" the family. Not his case or his plight but about the things that trickled down that he never thought about in his decision making.i have written next to nothing about his case. Purely his charges. The book is not a documenatry on CP or a script for Court TV, you can get that on court websites if you want transcripts. Its about how me and my twins lives were affected and changed and how its altered the way we see the world both positive and negatively. This experience has done both. I have to say, before this, we were a very judgmental family...we watched news on tv and made awful.comments in ignorance about things we knew nothing about. We were huge advocates for law enforcement, my husband actually campaigned for our current Sheriff. We thought there was a "them" and an "us" and then life has a way of teaching you lessons that force you to change how you see the world.
