I've read the one by Lynn Gilmore. From what I remember, it was very good. And since it was from the perspective of a significant other, it was really comforting.

Yeah, that book looked interesting to me too.

Nobody is saying much about good books to read, makes me think people just don't have time for them anymore. Though I guess where I live there wasn't much of a winter here to sit and enjoy a good book. Summer feels like it is here and it is only March.

Thank God Steph!! I hate our winters! I would rather read a book on the deck in the 80 degree sunshine!! I will be looking into all 3 of these books. I haven't really read any books in 3 years, too many other things to do.

Consensual Consequences is a good one as well.
And then there is one about the registry and it's history......... Knowledge is Power. (Good book if you want to understand where, why and how registries got started back to the 1500's)

Idilling - Yeah the winters here can be really bad! But this winter must have passed us by, makes me scared to think what is in store for us this summer or maybe it was this past summer that was the problem, we had tons of flooding scares where I live this past summer.

I was just thinking to sit or lay in a warm blanket in bed and read a book is the way to go. Though sitting out on a deck would be nice to if it was more like 75 degrees..........oh and no mosquitoes! The mosquitoes are already coming out here and it is only March! Crazy!

I agree I haven't read but maybe two books in the last few years myself, but I have been making it a habit to take time for myself and one of my great passions when I was young was to read books. So wouldn't mind picking a few good ones up and read them. My problem is when I find a good book I just want to read and read until I am done. I did that with the book "Heaven is for real" . Read that book in one sitting in 3 hours! LOL

I've written a book about my entire experience because it was the only way from staying partly sane. If anyone wants to read it, I'd love to email it to you and get a second opinion. Did you self publish? Because I've been sending mine into a publisher and so far it's been rejected by everyone. I would love so incredibly much to show what it's like from a girlfriend's side when it happens.

Meagan - sounds interesting what you have written since I am the girlfriend of a SO also.

When my son was first arrested, one of the first books I sent him was "Thirty Days to Hope and Freedom From Sexual Addiction" by Milton S. Magness, D.Min. My son said it really helped him understand what happened to him as a child and also what may have led to the kind of behavior that got him in trouble. It helped him realize that he is not the only person with these kinds of problems. There are individuals and organizations dedicated to helping RSOs and also dedicated to change in the laws regarding the registry. Another book I sent him was "Chicken Soup for the Prisoners Soul". Real/ traditional publishers have been reluctant to take a chance on us. I got a lot of rejection letters because they were too afraid of the controversy.
