I mentioned in a previous thread about an Oklahoma warden in the 1990's that the inmates liked and were impressed with. His name was Jack Cowley and he was the warden at JHCC in Lexington, OK, where the sex offender treatment program was located.
He was the warden at JHCC for around 20 years and he has seen it all. He finally became disgusted with the manner in which prisons were operated in Oklahoma and resigned.
Since he was warden where the SOTP was located, he dealt with a lot of sex offenders.
I was never incarcerated at JHCC as I refused their SOTP, but I talked to a lot of inmates over the years who just loved him as a warden.
He did an interview with Frontline, which was very interesting. He gave his take on prison, prison life, and how inmates react once they are released from prison. Since a few folks on the forums I visit have asked what to expect from a released inmate, I thought I would share this with you folks.
This will be VERY interesting for the mothers, wives, and GFs with loved ones in prison.

It is not a natural way of living. It is not what we teach our children. It is all set up for them to fail.
This sick part is society out here doesn't see it. They think they are " getting what they deserve", and they think it IS teaching them something and they may come out better. So wrong. Some can survive it and not become bitter and angry. But I sure couldn't.
Looking at my fiance, he came out determined to do everything he was not allowed to in there, buy things he was deprived of in there. They come out different, but not always in a good way.
