You need a new doctor or better medication or both if your like that maybe you should try the http://cyberonics.ccom program that will fix all that besides being on the medication half the patients get off the medications.

I got diagnosed with epilepsy but got told im having sumthing called tonic clonic seizures but they also sed they wer non-epileptic seizures Ss confusing i no so was i confused but they sed ther is a chance that this is a new type of seizure bcuz all my siezures follow and compare 2 the tonic clonic siezure its just the full body shaking is different =S xxx

Yes, I have been diagnosed with seudo-seizures in 2001 after a stroke and the doc. told me to go to counseling that I was having anxiety attacks???? I did so and was released from counseling eventually and they disagreed with the neurologist. I still kept having these episodes and my family doc. sent me to another neurologist after I had an episode in physical theorapy and was sent to the ER. That neuro. agreed with the first so it was still considered anxiety. My family doc. said finally he was tired of me being mis-diagnosed and said he did some research and thought I was having simple partial seizures and put me on Tegretol. When I looked up simple partial seizures I was shocked..it was me...I don't understand the neuros. sometimes...why they don't listen...I had an EEG and it showed slowing so it wasn't normal but yet they still said it was anxiety. Since I've been taking Tegretol I've been seizure free...so far so good!

Hi all, I've been reading this thread with interest as I too suffer from non epileptic seizures.
I must say though, that whoever told anyone that these seizures aren't real (or are "fake") is talking through a hole in their head - and it ain't their mouth!!!
You might wanna take a look at a website all about Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) and see if you still agree with the "fake" theory. Check out http://nead-scotland.org and you'll all see there's very relevant information in there - plus a great deal of links to other places, and a load of support for the fact that although these seizures are not epileptic they are still very real.

I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy but more recently with anxiety attacks which are totally different from what I've experienced withmy seizures. For the past two years I've only had GM's (3x) and now have anxiety seizures which mainly strike when driving. Lose total control of arms, legs, head, etc, it's both embarrassing and annoying. For no reason during work I can shake to the point I can't write! EEG clear and neurologist cleared me totally. All physcial responses to tests also normal.

Am so confused!

Hi Kamz, sounds like you could do with some help/advice/information. Like I said in my previous post, check out http://nead-scotland.org for a LOT of info on non epileptic seizures. I'm not saying that's the cause of your seizures, but what you've written is very similar to myself in the diagnosis of epilepsy, then clear EEG's etc and neuro clearing me altogether. NEAD Scotland (called that as that's where we're based) was set up by my wife & I to help people in our situation, and offer as much support/info as we can to anyone who's looking for it.

Hello yes I experience them weekly, it’s hard dealing with but it isn’t life threatening. It’s uncontrollable and has nothing to do with the electricity in the brain like epileptic seizures.
