Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

Reading some information on healthtalk.com couple days ago. I learnt that Endo suffers are at high risk of contracting cancer particularly for early breast cancer and hodgkins lymphoma. Its also said if your family have a history of diabetes, Asthma, allergies skin allergies and hay fever are at risk for Endo.
Its also said if you tall and thin have red hair you are at risk also. It all came as a surprise to me. Just thought I would share it with the DS family. I would like to hear from you what you think.

True on most of this! But the risk of cancer can sometimes depend on where the endo is. Any foreign cells in your body like endo are similar to cancer in a way (in that they are not normal cells). People with endo on their cervix, bowels etc. have increased risk of cancer in these areas, so get screened regularly and get blood tests to ensure your blood cel counts are good.

Well, that sounds like I'm doomed :) I have been dealing with endo for just about 12 years. I'm 5'7" 130 and have red hair. My Mother is a type I Diabetic, 2 of my sisters have gestational diabetes, 2 of my siblings have asthma and 1 of my brothers has severe allergies. Also, both my dad's parents died from cancer.. So I guess I will just live life to it's fullest while I still have it to live! Thanks for the info..

I am tall, but I don't have red hair. We do have asthma and allergies and skin allergies though. Interesting corellation.

The allergies are often an autoimmune response to the endo in you, or endo in the bowels. So that one is a 'chicken or the egg' discussion.

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
