Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I try things that usually help me ease my nausea, like hot coco and crackers (I love matzah, plain simple crackers) does the trick for me , or sometimes I will slowly sip a sierra mist but I don't care much for soda mostly. I have a prescription for the real bad nausea since I don't like taking drugs in general, but it's called Ondansetron (4mg). I originally got it for my migraine nausea but it helped so much that my G.I. continued to give it to me for my Endo/Adhesion based nausea.
I do have Zofran, which I believe is the same drug you are talking about, Perseveres. The problems is it is EXTREMELY constipating for me. Like, I feel like with one pill I'll never go again! It also causes severe abdominal pain. I called the dr to see if there's any other nausea drugs and she said no, but to take it with a stool softener. (Duh...I've tried that....this is beyond bad pain that it causes) So, I take it when I can't stop throwing up, but that's all.
The hormone fluctuations that go along with endo or cysts can also cause acid reflux. Estrogen dominance, in particular, can cause soft tissues in the esophagus to become inflamed and contribute to an overproduction of stomach acid. Acid reflux can cause nighttime nausea.
Try elevating the head of your bed. This keeps acid down in your stomach while you're sleeping. It may help a bit with the nausea.
I too have been prescribed Ondanestrom which is Zofran and it's the only anti nausea that has helped me. I have a G.I. doc and have been dx'd I.B.S. for over 15 years (which may be from endo now I see). Anyway, what my g.i. doc recommended was taking Prevacid or the other similar otc med (I get the generic prescribed to me so I get covered by insurance). I take that in the morning 30 minutes before my other meds or meals on empty stomach. Then I take the ondanestrom later. He swears by miralax and I have to say after 20 years of suffering from the yo-yo of constipation/diarrhea, it's the best thing that has helped me and doesn't make my symptoms worse.
That's all I got. Here's to soda crackers, ginger ale/tea and no more nausea for us all!!!
So I try to de-stress. The best things I have found are taking baths and using the Stress Relief aromatherapy lotion from Bath and Body Works. Breathing in deeply makes me feel like my problems are slipping away.
