I think Lupron lists bone thinning as a possible side effect. Now, I didn't take Lupron, but I took Femara (which also caused bone thinning). Femara killed my bones and joints. It was really painful.

Google Lupron with bone and joint pain and you'll get plenty of info on it. There's some pretty high profile lawsuits surrounding Lupron that mention specific side effects too. I know bone density was mentioned in the lawsuits.

Yes, Lupron can cause joint pain. I have had some achy, cold joint pain, especially in my back and hips. I took some Advil, which didn't work, and then a hydro, which helped. Hope this helps! And I hope you feel better soon.

Same here. I still suffer joint pain. Anti-inflammatory meds help.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I'm glad that its because of the lupron and not meningitis or something far worse. I find that stretching helps so I do some yoga before bed and hopefully that will keep it at bay for my last 3 months of the shot.

I was on Lupron for 7 months... about 2 yrs ago... I still have joint and bone pain from it. I couldn't get comfortable when I was on it. I was happy if I got 2-3 hours of sleep when taking it. I hope you find relief from the side effects.

Yes Lupron can cause very terrible bone and joint pain. I was told to take 4 calcium tablets a day. If you can incorporate more dairy into your diet instead of taking the tablets, that's fine. I'm lactose intolerant though so I had to take the tablets instead. It really helped me.

If you can't swallow calcium pills (I couldn't) you could also try Isotonix Calcium Plus. You just mix it into water and it tastes pretty good (some liquid calciums are gross). I really liked it, and ended up buying some for my grandma.

Thanks for all your advice. My mom actually picked up some holistic/organic Plant Sourced Calcium with Vitamin D3 and magnesium. So I'm going to give those a whirl to see if these are helpful. They say because its plant based its easier digested by your body, I'll keep you all updated.

Just wondering if that calcium is working for you? My hip pain has been unbearable for 3 days now, and I'm sick of taking pain pills. I'm taking two chewable calcium pills daily, I wonder if I need to increase? Hope you're feeling better! I need some relief :(

I really like these calcium tablets. I think they are working. I just had my 3rd shot 2 weeks ago and haven't had any joint/bone pain thus far with this shot. I take a 1 tablet a day. 1/2 with breakfast and the other half late afternoon. So it absorbs better. I also take it with some form of dairy so its more recognizable to my digestive tract ie cottage cheese, string cheese or yogurt.

I had to stop Lupron for the same reason. I had a lot of pain with it as well.

I had Lupron side effects since 2000. the joint pains are still here and the other nasty side effects. I am currently in communication with a lawyer from Dallas who specializes in pharmaceuticals. Please email her or call their office if you have been severely affected by this drug. It is deception to not inform women, and doctors about the dangers of this drug. If its causing you joint pain then that means its not good for you and it will not "CURE" your endometriosis. I still have endometriosis and I am currently in pain right now. Here is the info:
