Yes I sure can relate. My first surgery was complete hyst. plus a five pound football size tumor. plus eight hours of endo. removal. My incision was from above belly button to pubic bone. Less than a year later was opened up again to remove a softball size tumor in the cul-da-sac area. That one was attached to my rectum, vagina and bowel. They had to remove part of all those. Less then a month later because of weight being so low all incisions opened inside and things were coming out the wrong opening and it was bad. I had emergency surgery and had eight inches of colon removed and had an ileostomy for a year. One year late had that reversed. Now I am left with chronic pain around my tailbone area. It feels like a migraine headache in my butt with a bowling ball hanging from my tailbone. Do you have pain like that? It is so bad that after every kind of pain relief I now have an implant for the pain. It is a spinal cord stimulator and it does help. Plus I am on Voltaren, Oxycodone, and Lyrica for the pain. Even with all that I still have some very bad days. I just wonder how it would be if I didn't have that. I go to another pain management specialist on Tues. and he has two other options for me. I am doing new trials for this doctor. I hope you don't have anymore but they told me that I am so young so adhesion's and scar tissue is bound to continue. All I can say is that Dr.Redwine in OR. is the top endo. specialist and he is really trying hard to find the cure. Sorry so long and hope you have a good week.

Instead of stiches maybe they should consider zippers in our cases! OMG pain in the butt...yup it's much better than it was and the belly is just numb for the most part but by the time I feel like something is wrong I KNOW it is out of hand in there I think that's why he is hurrying me in to see him. he always schedules me for a laperoscopy with possible laperotomy and I have yet to walk out of there with little scars. I keep tellin him "doc, just cut me open , it's gonna be ugly"

As far as adhesions go...I don't know???

As far as how many Endo surgeries we need I believe if it is a good doctor, an Endo Excision (LAPEX) specialist, then hopefully only 1. Unfortunately, it took me 2 laps by unskilled doc that used ablation/cauterization/laser vaporization first and 3 years later before I finally found a specialist who actually eradicated the disease by Excision.

Yes Lindsay is correct with the correct doctor. My endo. specialist is Dr. Eric Bieber and he worked for years with Dr. Redwine. My surgeon was Dr. Robert Walker, oncology. They both are the BEST. I also have a second problem with my endo. which causes more surgeries. I am "Tumor Pron" I have grown eight different tumors in five different areas. So I guess when it comes to endo. surgeries it would be two. If you are full of endo. I would suggest opening you up to see and feel all the endo. to remove it. Dr. Walker used his hands for most of the surgery by pulling the endo off. He said when it is as bad as my he took every organ that he left and manually checked it. Good Luck!!!!!

So far I've had two:
A laparoscopy and then a laparotomy 2 years later. I've also been on Lupron, Femara, BCPs, and pain killers. We were TTC but have given up. So I'm on constant BCP now (no breaks, 365 days a year) and I have been better than ever. No pain and no symptoms. If I ever get off the BCP tho, I can guess there will be a 3rd surgery in my future.
