Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I'm so peeved. I just got my chronic illness insurance card and it listed all the illnesses it covered and endo was not covered. This disease required me to have surgery and may require me to have MORE surgery, plus it requires lots of pain meds and my new insurance won't cover it. Lovely. I'm soooo peeved right now. Sorry for venting. They cover things that can be taken care of with a small amount of medication (like asthma, my friend has it and only very rarely even needs her meds), but they won't cover something that requires a lot of surgery and medication. Grrrr. ><

In terms of it being a chronic issue, I would think it can and cannot be one. I think it depends more on the symptoms than the illness itself. Have you considered a secondary form of insurance? I know most states have a secondary insurance plan which is fairly inexpensive and is designed for people who are not eligible for Medicaid. I live in Indiana so I couldn't attest as to where you live, but it seems farily standard and across the board. Good luck!
I live in Indiana which offers a form of secondary insurance; it covers everything Medicaid does, but it has a copay. The copay is income based: I work part time and my copay is $9 a month regardless of whether I have to go to the hospital, have surgery, or need expensive medicine. Since it is designed to be income based, unless I suddenly go full time, my insurance will remain the same; it covered me when I was part time and a student, too.
Here, it is called the Healthy Indiana Plan, but most states have the same thing. It is designed to be a secondary insuance; so it would essentially cover everything yours doesn't. Since it is income based, I can guarantee it will be affordable. If you need help, I can try to help you figure out what it would be in your state. In most cases you can pick up an application from your local hospital or local division of family resources building (foodstamp office). You should also be able to apply online. All I had to do was mail in my taxes and they took care of everything else.

@Sabby, yes I was thinking about the new law when I was reading your post. Plus, I thought last year a law past that insurance companies could no longer deny coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. In fact my son's insurance company was sued, along with a WHOLE bunch of other companies and they had to go back through their records and reimburse both the patients and the doctors' offices the money that wasn't paid to them when the visits were denied coverage.
