hi guys i am a sufferer of Endo for the pass11yrs i had a baby pain went away and after 11mths it had return even more painful than ever before i experience chest pelvis lower back and leg pains headaches swelling feet cramp in my legs. I am allergic to NSAIDs so i am limited to the meds that would help me my doctors have given me Depo Provera that didnt work it had me bleeding and depress to the point had to see a doctor zoladex that work beautiful but its to expensive for me now and Danzol which i am currently on works well. Now i have been to another doctor i told him Danzol is all i can safely use without much problems he told me he dont like to perscribe Danzol because it eats out the liver he perfer me to go back on the depo Provera i said but that have me to sick and depress he said to me " It wha make ya sick it aint gine kill you" i was so mad then he wrote up the perscription and told me "go ahead when ya liver eat out dont blame me" DS please tell me anyone on Danzol have you ever heard it can eat your liver out? can anyone that allergic to NSAIDs tell me what else i can use? thanks u guys in advance

"Androgenic side effects are of concern, because in sensitive female patients, danazol can enhance unwanted hair growth, leading to hirsutism. On rare occasion, it can deepen the voice. Other possible side effects include acne and oily skin. Because danazol is metabolized by the liver, it cannot be used by patients with liver disease, and in patients receiving long-term therapy, liver function must be monitored on a periodic basis. Some patients who use danazol experience weight gain and fluid retention. Due to these limitations, danazol is seldom prescribed continuously beyond six months.
The use of danazol for endometriosis has been linked to an increased risk of ovarian cancer.[6] Patients with endometriosis have specific risk factors for ovarian cancer so this may not apply for other uses.
Danazol has, like most other androgenic agents, been linked with an increased risk of liver tumors. These are generally benign.[7]
Unlike GnRH agonists, danazol does not induce osteoporosis. Also, symptoms of hot flushes tend to be less common or severe."
So from what i get about this drug is that if you use it, make sure to get your liver function tested before you start it, and while you're on it, make sure to test it often. Danazol may be of some help to you but have you looked at other hormonal meds? honestly, Danazol sounds pretty nasty. Have you had surgery to clean out the endo?
Anyway, I agree with you in that Dr' DO NOT know everything. Im a living example of that! most of us are unfortunately. And I share a lot, and also ask a lot of advice here, and know we dont need to be professionals to ask/share here. I just get concerned when you mention your liver. Anyway, all other stuff aside, just be careful in making this decision. I hope you get a lot more info before taking it, its a harsh drug on your liver and other things. Take care!
