Empty Nests Support Group
Empty nest syndrome is a general feeling of depression and loneliness that parents/other guardian relatives feel when one or more of their children leave home. Empty nest syndrome has become more prevalent in modern times, as the extended family is becoming less common than in past generations, and the elderly are left living by themselves.

This is really hard, but you have to get involved with hobbies or interests. I found it difficult to make new friends at this age, so mostly I keep busy going to the gym. I just signed up for a volunteer project too. AND I'm also retired, so believe me, it would be real easy for me to lose my mind dwelling on this all the time. All I know is how to be a mother. I wake up crying every morning. So I know the feeling
I do need to find maybe a part time job. But I’ll tell you with my mental state I may not feel like going. I do talk to a therapist btw but once a week at most. It helps while we talk but I feel like I need her living with me.
My older son lives on his own, and my daughter is now on her third week at college , and I feel so lost! My husband works, or works out, and says off outside doing yard stuff and we don’t do anything together ! I cannot even tell you the last time we went to dinner or had a date night .
I’m trying to figure out if I need to start focusing on myself and find things that I like to do and just do them myself . Idk!
And I’ve found myself doing nothing but stalking my daughter at college on the life 360 app.
I just don’t know what to do with myself
