hi guys-so this morning i logged into youtube, and found my friend's video. it is in response to susan powter's video "F*** the right to fat girls". apparently, howard stern said some DISGUSTING, HORRID, things about gabby seurey (the actress from "precious") he said "she's as big as a planet." "she will die in three years." "she will never get a role in hollywood again."...
howard stern's a jackass. the whole world knows that. so i wasn't surprised by his sub-human comments. in defense of this talented young lady, a group that advocates for equality and self-acceptance at any size, (the acronym escapes me, but it is in taunia's video.) came out and said in a nutshell heaviness does not equate to sickness. nor does thinness equate to health.
so then SUSAN POWTER comes out with this video and says that this group is wrong. you can't be fat and be happy....ugg it was gross you guys. i realize she probably had the best intentions, but it was said in such a rude way. it came out like she was saying she's better than all the heavy people because she is thin. she said howard stern was right.
sure susan! let's tell this beautiful, talented, happy young woman she's not "ok" so she can go from being heavy to being anorexic!
SHE DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE HOW HATEFUL HE WAS!!!!!!!!!!!
i was so angry at her because she was saying that the fat acceptance movement is wrong. i'm not saying it's ok to be 500 pounds, but at some point, you have to let people love themselves. and besides, how do any of them know if gabby is or is not losing weight already?
i'm so sick of the craziness you guys! i mean, when will people shut up? you get crucified if you're thin. (celine dion has been accused of being anorexic before.) and lovely women like gabby and mandisa get crucified for being overweight.
throughout all this, almost NO ONE is talking about the fact that this talented woman was MOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR!!!!!!!!!!

A long time ago I was watching Letterman with my mom. Roseanne was on during her really heavy period. When she first got famous. My mom looked at me and said "you know there is something very wrong with her dont you?"
turns out roseanne watch abused, molested, has a mental illness and a food addict. She has lost weight and worked on herself...
Its just my opinion , but I believe it whole heartedly... but please remember we are all sick, everyone has issues, hers are no better, or worse than anyone elses...
but she does have them... its obvious.
Yes, our culture has a major issue with judgment but America is the most overweight country in the world, and one of the most unhealthy...I'm sorry but the two go hand in hand, and yes, being underweight is just as bad....the issue for me is health.

Anyways, I do personally love Gabby and all that she stands for.
But health wise, losing a few pounds wouldn't hurt her, but I don't think that that the media should have any say. She seems happy, and yes she isn't entirely healthy, but who are we to judge?
And I have been hearing that Gabby is trying to drop a few pounds here and there. But doing so in a healthy way. Besides Gabby is young (impressionable), she isn't used to Hollywood and all it's make-believe bullshit and critique of others.. (I would hate that if next year or the year after Gabby was sucked into this ED way of life, that would be heartbreaking). Because as we all know, 1 comment or in her case 1000's of comments can push someone over the edge or lower their self-esteem, and Howard Stern has no right to say that she will die in 3 years..

Besides, Howard Stern and millions of other people are just clueless about how Gabby feels, I bet she's been critiqued all her life, and this is just adding fuel to the fire:(
Anyways, I love her, and I hope that she gets healthy, but healthy does not equal thin, as many of us know..
When people judge me for being too thin, it hurts, same as when I was heavy. Judgement hurts period.
