I don't know what we can do... start a food journal? I had one for a while but it was counterproductive pushing me in the other direction so that also makes me nervous. I am hoping to start going for more walks. It is hardest for me when I am alone and inside. Perhaps forcing ourselves out and to be active is a good start. Also, perhaps if we wear ourselves out during the day we will have relief at night and no waking up to binge.
Thank you so much for your reply. I am really sorry to hear you're going through similar troubles of nighttime earing. I am not sure if it's this way for you, but I think there is something comforting about eating, especially crunchy foods. I read somewhere once that we crave crunchy foods when we are stressed because the munching helps relieve tension.
I really hope you can start to give yourself some compassion for what you are dealing with. I know it is hard, as I am trying as well. I agree about the food journal. I actually keep one (I have for years) and I am trying to stop because for me, tracking my food has just become another obsession.
Sending you hugs
I am sorry to hear you deal with the same sorts of feelings...it is so hard. But I thank you for taking the time to comment on my post and share your experience. I always think it is important to have hope, and it gives me hope hearing you say you know people who have overcome similar struggles. Thank you again, and take good care.
