and patricia i too have noticed certain people LOVE to try and prove me as well as others wrong on any and every god damn post....guess will i was reading the cornflake box......someone was pissing into their bowl of cornflakes....
That was when I realized I had to choose between this illness and my ability to think clearly.
Still, at times I want to slide back into my restrictive behaviors because I know no other way to become as thin as I crave to be.
I just keep reminding myself of the terrible depression I had, lapses in time that I can't even remember where I hurt family and friends terribly by my actions, & the fact I was losing my smarts.
you quote " meh......i actually have a rather hgh IQ........my mom is a school psychologist so i have taken all of the fun standardized tests....so i got to take numerous IQ tests (iq tests online arent real and dont tell u ur real IQ).......so i can stand to lose a few points =P.
I hope that was a joke or I just dont get you, I guess my empty brain made me a qualified psyche nurse (and yes that did have flaws). However, I majored in Criminal Defence Law so I must be real thick.
You have a strong following on here but it is certainly not down to age or maturity. I wish you to be well, like the thousands who post to you. I hope you way works and you live to be my age and have family life experience (and no that does not mean necessary good all the time) but what do we oldies know? Apart from a happy 23 year old marriage, 2 children (which you may NEVER HAVE) and from someone like my husband who has supported me through tough times. Ignore my posts, severe osteoporosis (but that probably wont happen to you anyway) - if they make you so angry but perhaps just once in a while ask yourself once in a while why do they?)!
Then anything that person posts will not be made visible to you. I don't know if it works because I've never had to use it, but for ruth61, I thought this info would be helpful.
Missy and I don't always get along or agree on things, you can just ask her but I am not going to let you just state her post is utter B.S when it has truth in it. Sorry this is so long but I think that you are out of line to say things to her like she may never have kids etc...you don't know what she wants out of life and you don't know her and her struggle. You think as a psych nurse (if I read the correctly) you may have a little compassion towards the mentally ill...and we all know that EDs are mental illness.
I think Missy was just being herself... I think Ruth and others are annoyed that she doesnt try to get well harder, or take her disease more serious. But that is for MIssy to figure out. we can all be supportive to someone living with a disease...
hope that they change some day, or figure it out.... recovery is a hard road to go down...
o and thank u for accusing me of being immature.....me who is 22 , works over a full time job, attends college full time, has never allowed herself to get drunk, had perfect attendance in high school, ,has credit cards she uses and that she pays off right away, saves her money responsibly, gets all of her work done and in on time, has often been called the stick in the mud when those she was with wanted to do something stupid or illegal.........if that is immature....well then guess uve got me pegged
And I agree, you either laugh or you cry sometimes. Maybe joking is sometimes innappropriate, but it is a coping mechanism.
I think we all just want to help each other, and don't know how.
