yes same!!! why do you have to let them go? If your scared of teaching don't worry about it......... it comes with practise! you've just gotta start somewhere! :)

how many teachers have you met that cant spell the kids names?

cant write stuff on a bord
without it being a joke

cant fill in forms and documents without messing them all up

oh! don't worry about that kinda stuff..... you could always not write stuff on the board and do power point presentations or something. Or do stuff at home and use a projector for the lessons.. I used to have a teacher who was dyslexic and allways spelt peoples names wrong. But we didn't mind coz she was sooo lovely and the way she taught things was really interesting and fun. She came up with the best ways of remembering stuff too.

You could allways ask someone else to help you with documents and stuff..... just explain your dyslexic and they'll help.

Music technology :/ sort of things
maybe some drum lessons as well

i know it sounds safe but there are
reports and all kinds of other stuff

its the times when i have to do stuff "right now" and evey one is looking at me to do it
and im 2nd guessing every word
when its like that i can even freeze on my own name

yeah....... I understand what you mean! Doing stuff under pressure is really hard and makes things worse. But iff you love music tech and your good at it teaching it might be fun? you could find ways around some of the stuff and just talk to your class- you don't have to write everything on a board maybe?

and drum lessons you wouldn't really have to do any documenty stuff at all so that would be ok. document stuff can be done at home anyway so you wouldn't have to panick about that side of things. i don't really know tho!

I know a hell of a lot about this stuff.

BUT im shot down by my lack of wrting skills

i always work for myself
.i have worked in music all my life
and i make stuff and sell it world wide

its good stuff i think really well in 3d
and art and i can visualse a finished product
quickly in many forms.

but i dont have any other options
i feel im pushed down roads
,in stead of having more choices.

oh sorry! don't know what to suggest then :( sounds like your really happy and your good at what you do. Iff you have a dissability like dislexia I think the only thing you can do is realise that you can do some things but theres a limit to what you can do. It would be nice to teach but you'd find all the document stuff stressfull so just carry on with what you are doing love.

I know it often feels like things are imposible, i know exactly how you feel because i am not just dyslexic, i also have severe asthma. This has not changed my ambition to be a racing mechanic, even though i am very allergic to the car fumes.

We cant let illness and disabilaties rule our lives. Settling for second best is not good enough.

There are lots of ways you can get arround the problems of dyslexia.

I once had a teacher who had some sort of nerve problem. She could barely wright because she always shook uncontrolably. Instead of trying to wright she would make presentations at home or ask a student to write on the board for her. Nobody minded this, it wasnt important, all that mattered was that she was a great teacher and a lovely person.

I honestly dont think that someone would offer you a teaching job if you were not perfectly capable of doing it.

I think it is important to show people that being dyslexic does not mean you are stupid. going through school I have seen what people think about dyslexia, and most of it is wrong. If a had a chance to educate people about dyslexia i would take if.

Dyslexic people think in different ways to other people. Often some of the ways they use are ecellent ways of teaching others.

I can see that you want this job, so why not take it!

i went to the post office today
and they gave me a pile of forms to fill in
very stress full.i wanted to come home with the form.

Im lucky today im feeling quite good with words
i did it ok i was very slow
a bit messy and all caps
but it looked like i was trying making it clear.

i cant do that all the time. i
- i dont tell anyone about the dyslexia thing
i hide it
really hide it from my familly
i only admit it when i am really conered
and have no choice

like the time i couldnt spell my name
while trying to book a ticket :(
it was so upsetting

I am a teacher and have been teaching for a while. I tell the kids they cannot talk to me while I write on the board. They remind one another. They look for my mistakes. I have to remember to keep it light and thank them when they point them out. I don't announce anything but sometimes in notices it can be a little embarrassing. . If kids see a teacher making mistakes and self correcting it makes them not so worried. But even so I have secret doubts about being found out stupid even though I know I'm not. I guess stuff like that comes with the territory including having lots of trouble with forms and misspelling your own name.
