Jess is happy when we go out and do things as well. I think as long as you get a healthy balance of letting them do their thing, and getting exercise outside and social things then it's all good.
turn off the tv and sit down and play with her, read books, or take a walk
or just talk...what does she like to do?
Get outside....read read read....do not try to lead..but rather ...let the child lead you. just being there with him/her is wonderful. With everyones bust schedules..I would always take every small opportunity I had to "teach". Going up stairs...we counted...going down we counted...in the bath...we made sounds (much cooler in the tub) practiced words....and did tongue exercises in the mirror (making funny faces) and let her do very appropriate and wonderful explorations of life. I always made a point of discouraging negative behaviour and replacng it with a positive.
