Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
They should make a Father's Day card -- thanks for honoring your current children's future and financial welfare by not sowing more.
It didn't have to be this way. He's handled it all so badly and of course blames me for their feelings. Whatever!!!!
I will be sending my ex father in law a card because that's just who I am but I'm sure it will be the last one I will be sending. The inlaws are not even speaking to me anymore anyway but this is still something I need to do. Kind of a final closure. The card doesn't call him "Dad" like I usually would have sent, just basic Happy Father's Day. My conscience is totally clear with this issue. I know I haven't done or said anything to them that warrants their treatment of me. So, I will take the high road, again, and just be who I've always been.
My kids (on their own) bought stbx a card. Whether they chose to buy a gift or not -- they are teens that is up to them. I support what they chose but I do not need to initiate. They are older teens.
He esentially left us and moved 2000 miles away. I have the address for them ready and will support their decision. As for me calling him -- he's not my father, he's not much of a father for the kids now. Why the heck celebrate that.
Exactly. For some, it's more like a day of mourning, eh?
Ditto...
Awesome :-)
