I am so sorry. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. When I lost my lab, it was two years before I could even think about another dog. Now, Chloe is the joy of my life. Allow yourself to grieve and remember the special things about your pet. It helps in healing.

Donna, I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby, MuShu. Adorable name, btw. It's both sad and sweet that he passed away laying next to you. Thank you so much for your kind words. They are such a comfort. Thank you all for your words of comfort and support. It means so much to me. It really does lessen the pain to know that so many people care. I was so blessed to have Champion for almost 13 years. I continue to be blessed by the wonderful people in my life who look after me and offer love and support.

I'm glad you were with him at the end of this life, and I believe he will still be with you as you go forward. Don't be surprised if you think you see him out of the corner of your eye, or smell him nearby. We will most definitely be reunited with out loved ones - yes, even our exes - in the life between lives.

Meanwhile, enjoy and find peace in your memories of dear little Champion as he championed you in his own dear sweet little way.

I'm sorry for your loss Kim. My (dog 15 in August) is getting a little senile, losing sight in one eye, and having accidents in the house. I think it may not be long for him either. I'm thinking I may have to put him down before something drastic happens - he falls on the stairs sometimes and loses his footing on the non-carpeted floors too!

Our pets are such a comfort to us huh? I hope you find that you can open your heart for another fur-friend again soon! hugs

So sorry Kim. Over the years I've had to put down 1 cat and two dogs. It was so hard so I know what you're going through. It is a major loss, especially if he was with you through your divorce. I really feel for you.

OMG!!!! I know the heartache. I lost my beloved Nadia a year ago August. I would of gone thru the divorce all over compared to that. Hurt my heart so much more.

My sons replaced her (well no equal replacement but I love new girl) about 3 months later. Told me "Mom you are by yourself way too much. You need another friend to love and spoil"

Well Addie (picture I use for profile) is rambunctious, spoiled, cuddly, and all I needed. She's my new baby and I love her.

We are miniature dachshund folks. Buried our first after 13 years several years ago. It hurts. Now our 2nd is 10 and the replacement dachshund we got for the first is 5. They are family

Thank you all so much for your love and support. I am doing okay. It's been a tough several days. Yesterday marked the 3rd anniversary of my brother's death. Sadly, a close friend of my father's passed away yesterday. It just seems like my family is surrounded by loss. I know that God doesn't give you more than you can handle, but at times I wonder. I miss my little guy so much. I keep thinking that I hear him. My lap is too empty. I know he is happy and running and playing and no longer suffering. It's so hard to let them go, but I know it's what was best for him. I just wish I had more time with him. But, I'm so very grateful for the time I did have. I know that someday I'll have another dog. I don't think I can live the rest of my life without one. But, he will always hold a very special place in my heart because he was there for me when my life fell apart. He was right beside me through the pain and grief and sadness. I was lucky to have him. I miss him so much.

Kim, so sorry to hear this. I have a black lab that is my constant companion. I lost my yellow lab about 5 years ago and I still miss him!! I'm finding I like dogs better than a lot of people! I definitely understand your comment about the quiet. Hang in there! {{HUGS}}
