Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
I SHOULD ....
Give up cookies
Quit smoking
Walk for 30 minutes every day
Catch up on my ironing
Ride my horse
and any one of a number of things...
Let me think about it and get back with you.
xoxoxo
Anything to help me out of my sadness over my divorce will be good!
I will walk my dear dog, Zeus everyday. Poor thing gets lost in the shuffle of everyday busyness. It is more of a treat than a chore because it is so darn beautiful here. It is a peaceful time, so I will make an effort to fill my mind with good things and take in the scenery when we walk.
I am excited!
That is far more ambitious than I ever could handle. Roofs, fences. I think I will stick to working out!
I have to say this about exercise. It sure makes you happy. Since I got back to work, I had to cut my exercise to just an hour a day. That must be enough because I'm still happy, and....very addicted to it. Even during parent/teacher conferences when I'd be working twelve hour days, I have to stop at the gym on my way home. I can't NOT exercise anymore.
This is a very constructive goal. You'll see the difference, not just in how you feel physically but your emotional high is going to get pretty steady and high all of the time. A side benefit is that I lost almost ten pounds even though I was never overweight in the first place. It surprised me.
I started a gratitude journal way back when also. That does wonders too.
What a great idea that you have. I would encourage anyone to do this. I think everyone should. Maybe we should start a new group for support. :-)
