Hyoscyamine sulfate .125mg

So the doctor perscribed Hyoscyamine sulfate .125mg and upped my miralax to 2x per day in the hopes that I can eat. So far its not working! I had chicken breast and applesauce yesterday and white toast and scrambled egg and soy milk this morning and i am still horribly bloated and have pain now!

Anyone had this med before or any other that worked for them to be able to eat anything besides clear liquid that doesnt hurt?

My mother is all new to this. She is allergic to sulfate. So she can never take it. When she has been so bloated and irregular the doctor told her to get an over the counter clear liquid from the drugstore and to drink half a bottle in the evening to "blow her out". Then to drink Miralax daily as maintenance. It seems to be working for her. She also seems to have a high tolerance for pain as she has several GI conditions going on. The only thing that she really complained about was the pressure from the bloating and lots of gas. She was miserable and constipated. Now that she's done what her doctor has asked, she is much more regular, but still goes only a small amount at a time throughout the day. I wish I could remember the name of the clear liquid over the counter drink from the drugstore. I know that it is in the laxative area.

Mom is 71 and has UC, Crohn's, Diverticulosis, Erosive gastritis, hiatal hernia and Barrett's throat. We have a lot to overcome to get her healthy again and we are only in month 3. Three more months till her next endoscopy and colonoscopy.

In short, she has never been prescribed Hyoscyamine Sulfate, but if this is for the same recent problem Mom has been having then possibly the above written will help you as well. I hope and pray for healing for everyone soon. If it helps any, this can be overcome and it is always remarkable to me that the body is a miraculous machine that is very forgiving and very capable of healing with the right care.

I tried hyoscyamine one time, (one pill), it did make the bloating and abdominal discomfort worse for me. It didn't do anything to help. I had better luck with bentyl.
