I had surgery in January. Was given these drugs in hospital intravenously, don't remember if I took them home, probably did. Landed in the hospital on June 4 this year with another infection. Came home with these two drugs for two weeks. Finished them and still having abdominal pain that feels like cramps. I went to a gastroenterologist and he is convinced I have C Diff, and he believes that levoquin is ineffective against this infection. He's having me do a fecal test to confirm the infection and hopefully there will be a result with another antibiotic. I have been miserable for months and hope there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hello group! I was just diagnosed 4 days ago with Diverticulitis. They put me on Flagyl and that taste is the most horrible thing I have experienced with any medication. They also RX Cipro and that isn't too bad.

I've been getting headaches, nausea and weakness. Anyone else have these side effects?

I can sympathize with the low concentration. I thought my girlfriend was going to kill me because "I wasn't listening" when I seriously had not been able to concentrate on anything for days.

I thought that the side effects of all the antibiodics were worse than having the actual surgery. For me, I was on antibiodics for almost 8 weeks after being on iv ones in the hospital for 8 days. It was truly one of the most trying times of my life. I remember a mantra that I was repeating of "I will feel better tomorrow, even if only a little bit.". My 2nd one was a prayer "God grant me patience and please do it really quick".

I was just diagnosed and I am currently on Cipro and Phlagyl. This is the roughest 10 days of my life. I can't tell if it is helping because I am so exhausted and my tummy hurts so badly from the stomach cramping and diarrhea. I am staying trying to stay positive.

On levaquin and flagyl this time. Was on cipro with flagyl the first time and it was horrible. The cipro made me neurotic plus I developed thrush in my mouth and had pretty much all of the side effects. The levaquin doesn't seem to be as bad so far but not taking nearly the same dosage. Flagyl is still it's lovely self. Not sure the levaquin works as well as the cipro.
