I had a terrible time on those drugs. In addition, everything had a metal taste to it. I also accused my husband of salting things that you'd never salt! If I never have to be on them again, it will be too soon !

Yes on the salt!! Salt is so intensified when you are on those drugs!! I thought it was me! And the gross taste - ugh. The worst.

I almost forgot about the effect on concentration also. I think it was close to a year before I read an entire book again. Don't know if it was all the drugs, the surgery, or just the stress of the whole thing, but it has returned now (thankfully)!!

Yes on them at the moment. Taste is terrible and I just feel so awful. Been symptom free for months, had an endoscopy last Wednesday and by Saturday was in er diagnosed with diverticulitis, is that a coincidence, they fill you with air during an endoscopy so could be responsible for my current attack. I find taking the tablets for 4 days is enough to kill the infection. Any longer I don't think I could cope on them. I really hope you feel better soon.

Thank, all - it's almost the end of week two on them. Still having issues. But I know I'll feel better once I am off the drugs a few days!

I HAD A COLONOSOPY ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO I HAVE DIVERTICULOIS NOT THE DIVERTICULITIS YET. I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THIS CONDITION. I WAS TOLD ONCE I HAD IBS. ITS LIKE WHEN I EAT I FEEL ALL BLOATED IN LOWER STOMACK. BUT WHY DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE THESE HORRIBLE ANTI BIOTIC??? DO YOU GET SICK FROM FOOD?? i THINK THIS IS SO SCAREY TO ME. I HAD ONE OF THOSE TEST LARPSCOPE THEY STICK DOWN YOUR THROAT BUT I DON,T REMEMBER THEN BLOWING AIR THERE. AND ANOTHER THING THIS STUPID DR. WHO DID THIS PROCEDURE ON ME I WAS AWAKE THEY DID,NT GIVE ME ENOUGH SEDATION. IT WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE PAIN I EVER FELT. IT EVEN MESSED UP MY BLADDER. I DON,T UNDERSTAAND HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE TO SEE A DR.. OR ONE OF THOSE POUCHES GET AN INFECTION?? THANK YOU HUG ZZZ

Cipro, flagyl, levoquin ugh. Dizzy, tired and that awful metallic taste.
All I want for Christmas is no pain, no pills. 9 more days on levaquin.
I added Miralax 1x/day and that helps with the constipation some of these drugs give you.

I'm off them now finally - but still have symptoms! I can't tell you how much I can't wait to have my surgery. Scary but worth it.

I cannot tolerate either of these nasty meds. Flatly makes me want to die, and levaquin causes me to hallucinate and hear voices.
There's gotta be a better way!!

Just got all of my surgery prep - it included 3 Flagyl tablets!! Oh well, I can handle one day's worth! Surgery in 17 days!!

Was on Flagyl and Amoxicol via drip for 6 days and had constant runs now home a week from hospital off drugs but still have the runs

Have had the metal taste, sometimes my feet go numb with
Flagyl, but with the last two rounds of Flagyl I felt like jumping off the roof, I could barely tolerate the feeling it gave me. I thought I was losing my mind. I would trade the metal taste and numbness for suicide any day.

Flagyl makes me so sick to my stomach. I've had it by IV and oral.

I have a really bad time on these antibiotics, the worse being I just cant seem to think clearly. even couldn't decide what to eat, go to the ER. I have had so many attacks.

I had horrible reactions on both about 3 days into the treatment. Didn't sleep at all one night, horrible taste, pain in left thigh and a panic attack which I have NEVER had before. Will not take again. Augmentin seems to work for me.
