Weekly Weigh-In (Mar 8) Results Less Guilt

Focusing on Results Rather than Guilt
Lately, I've been thinking too much about wanting immediate results and this is my guilt setting in. It is telling me that I should have been doing more toward my goals all along. I think you may agree here that there is no place for guilt in any of this. It's been described as a rather useless emotion, at least so far as progression toward our goals.
That said, focusing on the plan that will help achieve results is the mindset I continually remind myself to take. For example, creating a list of exercises and then accomplishing them in a way that can be incorporated into daily life helps me a lot. Some prefer a long work-out session although for others, like me, building habits works well.
Little tricks that I do to get “exercise snacks” into my daily activities begin with three sets of squats while I'm waiting for my coffee to brew. While typing this, I'm doing ankle pumps. After cleaning the kitchen, I may do some walking. Gradually building or tweaking a routine is like powering up for great results.
Remember the (5) S’s for Weighing:
♦ Same TIME of day
♦ Same DAY each week
♦ Same CLOTHING
♦ Same SCALE — and remember, sometimes the scale doesn’t budge, but the waistline does
♦ Same SELF-COMPASSION

If you're like me, tracking results is a huge motivator. Remembering to weigh-in today before having coffee was my first win of the day. Being down one pound is motivating. I'm going to see how this progresses over time. I'm still using a tracking sheet based on the WeightWatchers meetings of years back. Is there something that helps you keep track of your results over time?

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...
