Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. This item strikes me as dangerous as it was part of that other product fen-phen. If you look up that one, you will discover some terrible side effects including death.
On Wiki, it mentions that this product is to be used by people who are obese and in combination with diet and exercise. What does you dr say about taking this product, and what diet and exercise plans have you set to accompany these pills. This product is to be used for only a short period of time, like 2 weeks.
There's a pretty long list of warnings and side effects just on the Wiki site; I would suggest you read it before starting to take this product.

Why take a chance of heart valve damage or death, just to lose a few pounds quickly?
I can see very few reasons to use OTC medications to lose weight. They are not safe. If you do need them they should be prescribed by a DR.
I would love to see you do it the safe, healthy way.
Check out this support group! We are the greatest!

Nevermind what it does to your heart. Don't forget the damage to your thyroid it could cause. I don't recommend it. BUT...if you're going to take it, definitely do it under the supervision of a doctor.
good luck with whatever you decide.
