How do I stop myself from eating something?
talia1234
I always say I won't eat much dinner/lunch/breakfast but I always end up getting tempted and doing it anyway. Are there any tips to eating more moderately or not as much? It's hard to control and when I start eating something I enjoy I can rarely stop.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...

I started an actual diet program that has a meal plan that has a list of allowable proteins, starches, vegetables, and fruits. It also tells me how big a "portion" is and then how many portions of each I get each day. I am a rule follower, so these simple guidelines eliminate my choice of what to eat and how much to eat. I find that it is now really simple to eat healthy and eat reasonable amounts. It's becoming second nature to me, so I'm hoping that once the official diet is over, I will continue to eat with similar habits.
Once you start feeling really well and knowing that giving in to temptations will cause a set back, the temptations become less and less tempting.
I eat a big salad with dinner every night and vegetables too. I've read a lot about switching up our portions to 1/3 protein and 2/3 vegetables versus the opposite which is generally the American way.
I'd recommend finding something you can enjoy snacking on that is good for your progress. Have you tried collard greens? Do you like them? Vegetables, quinoa?
Best of luck in conquering this!
