Dialysis Support Group
Dialysis is a type of renal replacement therapy which is used to provide an artificial replacement for lost kidney function due to renal failure. It is a life support treatment and does not treat any kidney diseases. Dialysis may be used for very sick patients who have suddenly lost their kidney function or for quite stable patients who have permanently lost their kidney...

I have 4 dogs and a cat. All you need is a room. Even your bedroom is okay. You just can't have the animals in the room when you dialize. They use the button holes for access. They want you to have a partner while you do it. Not in the room but at least in the home. :) SUE

If you have home made videos of your dialysis setup, send them in!!
I told the nurse if she could not get Miss Kitty out of the closet, to go into the living room and sing the song "with a knick, knack, paddy whack, give the dog a bone" and she will come running because she thinks she is going to get a treat. She did not believe me and needless to say was somewhat embarrasssed to be singing to the cat.....but she got the biggest kick out of it when she sang and in comes Miss Kitty running as fast as she could go!!
We thought Mom really did better on home treatments. Its just more relaxed and if its winter time and flu or something else is going around, she did not pick up near the stuff she did when going to a clinic.
