Hi! I don't have diabetes but was diagnosed with neuropathy a few months ago. I have heard that those with diabetes often have neuropathy. I was actually looking for a support group for neuropathy but didn't find one so I was hoping I could get some advice here. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2011 and fibromyalgia in 2007. Then I was diagnosed with Raynauds, but found out it is neuropathy. Then last month diagnosed with Addison's disease. These are all autoimmune diseases. The neuropathy is so painful and I get still muscles, muscle movements that I can't control, tingling in feet and hands, loss of memory and it feels like I'm moving in slow motion. I also have no energy. I am on lyrica for it but that helps the pain but It really makes me feel so groggy and makes me useless. I need to find a doctor who specializes in neuropathy. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!
not sure if this group is highly active but they should help also. Neuropathy can be caused by so many things from tight shoes (yes really so don't wear pointed high heels lol) to various illnesses.
I used the capzasian cream (sp) on my feet, and it takes a few uses to get it to respond, but basically the hot pepper ingredient numbs the nerve endings with frequent use. It did help me. Only thing be careful where you use this since you can transfer the cream to other parts of the body, like eyes etc and you don't want that.
They do make a roll on type that helps with out having to use your hands to apply and it can be found in various over the counter pain ointments
