Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...

I went off metformin this past February and my blood sugar is better than ever!
Threw away the cholesterol mess a year ago as they caused more problems than they helped.....plus through research and my own experience I have found that the levels "they" want me to be are just as dangerous as too high. I also learned the ANA standard made it up and keep moving the mark so we HAVE to take dangerous drugs from big pharma.
I am weaning off blood pressure mess and am almost there. I am taking "Blood Pressure Health" by Emerald Laboratories (you can get it on Amazon or at a health food store. I take their Blood Sugar health too.
I eat extremely healthy, exercise 5-7 days a week a d drink tons of fresh water.
Check with your doctor first. Ask if you can give natural a try first. You have to take it 3 times a day.....but no side effects or danger of hurting your liver and or kidneys.
I just had my fasting blood work this morning and I see my doctor right after Labor Day. I'm not worried becuz I know by the way I look and feel.....it will be just fine.
Stick to your healthy lifestyle. It doesn't hurt to cheat just a tiny bit oncein awhile, but get right back to the healthy foods asap.
Congratulations on a job well done!
It's not mess.....it's MEDS!
Also it's not ANA....it's AMA!
Sorry
Diet is really important, alone, it won't fix the issues.
I ended up having gall bladder issues......and a bunch of digestive issues which is usually the main cause of all diseases. If your digestion is bad........it throws everything off.
Most ppl have gall bladder issues without any symptoms for years. Yet.....dibetes has everything to do with the malfunction of the liver and pancrease which is connected to the gall bladder or the lack there of the gall bladder (don't let anyone and shame on a professional that tells you the gall bladder is "junk" organ or not needed!!!).
I have been working diligently on correcting digestion issues since my first gall bladder attack in February of this year.
Instead of opting for removal since my symptoms were not serious.....yet. I started taking bile salts....digestive enzymes.....and HCL with pepsin at each meal. I didn't need tests to tell me I have gall stones......I decided that since I was having symptoms, I more than likely had stones and or sludge.
I did tons of research and also have 40 years of human physiology under my belt and also a degree in phsycology which helped me understand how the brain is connected to the rest of the body and it's function. Also, I do not have health insurance, only a discount program so I am limited in health care tests.
I have had to add good probiotics (a soil based one) becuz I was not absorbing nutrients. In fact, I was deficient in D3 which I was already taking and also B12. These 2 deficiencies are becuz my body was not absorbing them due to gall bladder issues which also rendered me low on stomach acid (most ppl think they have too much when in fact they don't have enough and your stomach can not pull vitamins out of the food nor digest it properly which causes fermentation and it rises up which irritates the flap that is between the stomach and esophogus which is the real cause of acid reflux).
So in order to correct type 2 diabetes, you have to fix the stomach acid and other digestive issues.
In the process, I ended up giving up gluten and dairy (except eggs and organic grass fed butter). I went organic for everything. At the moment, my body won't accept red meat, so I only eat organic chicken that has been fed organic feed.
I hardly eat out and when I do, I eat only at a few places that serve mostly organic.
I have heard that Keto diet is good for diabetics and have heard success stories for curing diabetes.
I also exercise (walk and do stretches) 5 to 7 times a week.
I meditate and do deep breathing too.
Stress.....that's the biggie!!!! I am learning through meditation and practicing forgiveness is key to reducing constant stress.
In my down time, I work on what I need to do to improve myself.
My blood sugar has been good for 4 years now (my A1C's are usually between 5.6 and 6.1 and for the past 2 years, it has stayed steady at 5.6, but my doctor refused to take me off the medicine. So when I started having gall bladder issues, I did a ton of research and took matters into my own hands.
I found this awesome little mom and pop health food store and worked with the owner who is a nutritionist and she helped me get off metforman and we are working on getting me off blood pressure medicine (I'm down to a half pill).
I have come to accept my lifestyle and actually enjoy it much better.
I'm in the process of disolving my gall bladder stones and taking supplements to support and fix my liver and pancrease issues.
I don't recommend anyone do this on their own without their doctors approval. All though most don't know anything or very little about natural routes, so if you know of a good nutritionist, you can always work with them. Let them know what medicines you are on and how to transition.
I know it is expensive to take good quality vitamins, but hospital, medicine, and doctor co pays......monthly premiums.......and your deductibles are much higher in the end......and God forbid if you have to go to the ER or have a hosptial stay!!!!!
My health is more important and it feels good to feel good.
This is just my shiny nickels worth. Take what resonates with you and leave the rest.
Always consult with your doctor first, but don't give up if they are not on your side. Remember, they work for you and should respect your wishes.
I'm 57 and partially retired.....working towards making a busines expansion.
My doctor only increased my vitamin D3 1000 I.u. to total 3,000I.u.. I actually upped it to 10,000 I.u. and accompany it with 360 mg of MG-7 (a form of K2. I take this twice a day to make it that amount.
I found out by the professional at the health food store that K2 is needed in conjunction with D3 to make it work better and it also tells the calcium where to go (bones and teeth as opposed to soft tissue such as the kidneys. K2 also helps clear the calcium from the arteries which is what clogs the arteries and not cholesterol. Like the doctors tell us). D3 has a hard time being absorbed as we get older and needs the K2 to help absorb it......google it or discuss it with your doctor.
I have been eating low carb diet since ddiagnosis almost 5 years ago and lost about 130 pounds....maybe more. I don't own a scale (long story), all I know is I have gone down 5 clothing sizes.
You don't appreciate your health till you lose it.
Altho I can't eat gluten, sugar, red meat....and a few other things, I still have many things I can eat. As my stomach heals, the nutritionist says I can slowly reintroduce crociferous veggies and garlic and onions.
I do smoothies to help the healing. Plus, most of them are yummy.
I also eat a half cup of unpasturized sauerkraut with lunch and dinner.....great probiotics and aids in digestion.
My blood work came back this morning.....so far it looks good with the exception that my protein's a little low.
My A1C looks like it's like 5.1 or less (the doc will give it to me when I see her next week.....right now it's in Greek....lol. The numbers are much lower than 6 months ago from what I see on the history).
Anyways.....congrats again to you Veronica77 :)
Polarbare....you hang in there. Reversal is possible. You did not become diabetic over night and it will take time AND work to reverse it. You can do it!!!!
