Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I had to make a decision with the steroid thing also ,I have a back injury which causes me a great deal of pain in my right leg.It was suggested I take a steroid injection but I refused after hearing some horror stories with people's sugar levels
Better than I..My average is down to 140 (past 4 days)
A month ago, it was around 200.

This is one excellent forum.
if its between havin SEVERE pain to the point of wanting to gash my eyes out and having high bs every now and then i take the high bs over the migraines.
I too seem to have this problem. I wake up with a typical fast glucose reading in the mid 90's -130 on any given day but a simple sandwich for example (avg 30 carbs) can send me soaring over 200 in the morning. It seems my body don't handle carbs of any kind good in the morning until my body "warms" up to the day and my pancreas seems to work. So i typically keep my meals high in protein and low in carbs (no more than 15-20 grams) until my pancreas "wakes" up. This process can take from 2-2 hours.
My "fasting" BG , 7:30 in the morn,is roughly 15% higher than the other 3 readings during the day....
Steve - those numbers arent low but you somehow got a very low A1C. How do you explain that ?
