Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
But it's like this, the liver and pancreas have a party overnight in your body and they don't invite the humans to join in ROFL
135...118...119...114...72...144...64...100...174...152...166............
And the diet is quite consistent, as it the exercise..
Headed into hypoglycemia, thus the "doctors" stopped the Glyburide..
Its all nurses at the VA.
Tomorrow we visit the endocrinologist at the Camp Hill clinic.
I recently discussed this same issue with my endocrinologist and he suggested that I take my long acting Insulin, in my case Levemir around 10:00 PM because you want the insulin to start working about 2:00 in the early morning which coincides when you body is producing more glucose.
I have been doing this about month and the morning numbers have come down.
Please consult your Dr before you alter anything as I can only tell you what worked for me.
Another cause could be snacking after your short term insulin wears off.
i take all mine at around 10-11 and in the am around 9-10
and i know thats mostly why its high
even with being out its int the 300s-400s
yesterday i actually had a 206 in the middle of the day which is the lowest its been in a week since ive been officially diagnosed.
im on steroids for my asthma and a crapload of other stuff so i know its mostly from that.
when i was in the hospital the nurses were so rude accusing me of sneaking food in and checking the garbage bags because they refused to believe that it could be that high just from the medicines but when youre pumped up on solumedrol and iv steroids and antibiotics DERRRR!!! my dr tried to tell them.
Doctors need training in how to read and write.
End of rant,
My BG is also high in the morn, an average of 166...
At 9:30 pm, a super apple salad(cheese, apple, greens, a little pickle, some olives, nuts, sunflower seeds, a little mayo, = absolutely delicious...
I need more discipline.
Which has what effect ?
