Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
Thanks for that information.
I am also on (alot) of psych meds for other reasons but lyrica and acupuncture for the neuropathy.
How else do you handle it? I am in constant pain, like oh my God, I need to go to the ER soon-kind of pain.
I am only 25 years old.
UGHHHHHH.
I'm off of metformin too.
The thing about these supplements is that you will get the best and most benefit from them if you actually do a lot of exercise. If you don't, you'll only notice a few point difference.
You see, you put in the stuff that your body needs but if you don't put it to use, then it kind of just sits there. Try a 30 minute walk and then graduate to 30 minute aerobics. It does wonders. You will probably be off of metformin in a few weeks too.
The only thing to watch out for is that if you do both the supplements and metformin, your blood sugar could go below 70. Keep a can of soda handy and test the amounts until you feel comfortable that you know what you're doing.
Good Luck.
When I came home from the hospital I had almost no feeling in my right foot. My physical therapist instructed me to rub my foot against a coarse towel. He said that would help the nerves to regenerate.
