What's going on?

Hey! thx for writing. my mom had a stroke last week and I am super worried about that. she is my best friend. also, I don't have other friends and I am just really stressed out. I have huge financial problems and problems at work and so on... just feel really lonely. people don't seem to like me. it really hurts. I call people and talk but they don't call back so here I am back online trying to find someone to connect with here. the isolation is just awful. thx again for writing. how are you?

I am sorry to hear of your moms stroke. I went through this a year ago when my mom had a stroke so I understand exactly what your going through there. you feel so helpless. you want to do something to help and you cant you just have to do what the doctors say. The hospital shes in im sure has counselors on hand to help you through this. im hoping for you that she recovers from the stroke, God bless you and help you and your mom through this.

Sorry you are having such a hard time and sorry to hear about your mom's stroke. Are you celebrating Christmas at all? I'm doing pretty good. Thanks for asking.

thank you everybody for writing. that means so much to me. I am far from her, about 9 hour drive and I won't get to see her for a few days. I am not really celebrating Christmas much except I sent out some cards. I think tomorrow I am just going to try to rest. my heart has been beating hard in my chest although I don't have chest pains or shortness of breath but it has been like this for hours when I am lying down which is upsetting. it's probably anxiety. I would rather not go in for it but I might if it continues. well, thx again for writing. I find it very hard to be alone. the rest of my family are hard to deal with. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. bless you all.

Surround yourself with people who are supportive and caring. Don't spend too much time alone if you can help it. Depression festers during alone time. Maybe take your mom a Christmas present.

Heidi, that's really good advice. I do tend to be alone a lot. i have trouble finding supportive and nice people in the "real" world. sometimes i will ride the bus just to be around people. i will give my mom a nice present. that's a good idea. thank you so much.

Am living in the small town where I grew up but I moved away for years to bigger cities. I am miserable and feel like I can't relate to any of these rural people that live here. I only moved back because of my stbx and he lives here. Now my daughter and I are stuck here for another two years while she finishes hs. I would love to chat. I am sorry you are having trouble connecting as well.

thx everyone. I am not doing too good today. I don't have anyone to talk to right now and I feel like I can't function until I talk to my mom. I left a message with my sister who is with her now but my sister is really mean. it is good she is helping my mom now but she is extremely domineering and bossy and harsh and I have never gotten along with her. I have to go through her to talk to my mom and she is giving me instructions on how long to talk and what I can say, etc. it is really making me angry and so sad. I know not to stress my mom out now. my sister is just on a power trip and is being an asshole. no one in my family ever calls me to see how I am doing except my mom and she can't right now. well, she can talk and she is doing ok but she is on my sister's schedule. I am trying to get up there but it is really hard trying to coordinate it with my job and very little money and my pets. I have contacted my brother a number of times on the phone for emotional support and he has been ok but he has not once called me to ask how I am or just to talk. it's always me. it makes me feel awful and degraded to always be the one reaching out and no one reaching back out to me except my mom. if I could end my life peacefully and without hurting anyone, I would. the kind of pain I am in I would not wish on anyone. I may call the suicide hotline soon so I have someone to talk to. my sister and brother always act like there is something wrong with me and that's why they don't call me but it's not, it's just that they don't want to. I am trying to hang on her moment by moment. I am devastated by mom's stroke. she is 82. I am 52. we are best friends. she is the love of my life.
